Somewhere I read a very simple way how to wean the tailed beasts from climbing where they are not supposed to.
I checked it really works!
Cut off a strip of wide adhesive tape (popularly "scotch") and put it on the protected object, sticky side up.
As soon as the cat jumps on this object, it "sticks": Malasha was caught on a crime.
For most cats, once is enough. After that, they will never climb where such a disaster happened to them. For the most dull ones, the procedure can be repeated, and then certainly never, or almost never. :)
I did this experiment in April. Malasha did not try to jump on this chair until today (that is, it was enough for 5 months). Nothing, now we will repeat it and I suppose it will be enough for a year. :)
I so weaned Glafira from getting on the Xiaomi humidifier (she liked that moist air was blowing in her ass). The trouble is that the humidifier has touch buttons on top and Glasha pressed them with the pads of her paws, switching modes and turning off the humidifier. After one strip of duct tape, there was no more attempt to jump onto the humidifier.
