At the time of the popularity of the so-called European-quality renovation, all bathrooms were roughly similar to one another. Today the situation has changed somewhat: designers are trying to add a touch of individuality to the owner's interior - they use unusual color combinations and innovative materials. Nevertheless, practicality remains at the forefront.

What solutions will bring the interior of the bathroom to a new level, the designer told Olga Ivanova, founder of the studio Merra Architects.

7. Fireplace

We are used to seeing a fireplace in a cozy living room or chalet-style house. In the bathroom, it looks very unusual, but very impressive. When it comes to home, the fireplace can be wood burning. Bio or electric fireplaces are suitable for an apartment.

The variability of the models is wide enough. Products of small size or elongated in width can be built into a niche, larger ones can be placed on the floor. In addition to performing an aesthetic function, the fireplace acts as a lighting equipment - it is easy to use it as a backlight.

6. Black sanitary ware

Black sanitary ware in the bathroom will definitely not go unnoticed. This solution is a step forward after anthracite mixers and fittings, which are often used in the interior of a bathroom to play in contrast.

Moreover, not only ultra-modern models with installation look decent in black, but also old-style toilets.

5. Legged bath

A pedestal bath is the dream of many. They first appeared in the 18th century and almost immediately won widespread love. In those days, they were placed right in the center of the room, making them the compositional center of the interior. Today, such a solution looks sophisticated and refined.

It is permissible to experiment with the color of the enamel and legs, the shape of the bowl, or the location of the plumbing. Faucets for these bathtubs can be built into the wall or use freestanding models. As for the curtain, you can do without it or use an oval cornice.

4. Massive mirrors

Massive mirrors in gilded frames in the bathroom are another greetings from the past. In modern interiors, preference is often given to more concise and restrained models, but they are easily lost against the general background, while products in bulky baguettes will certainly become the center attraction.

Such an item will make the interior more eclectic. The main thing is not to overdo it with such elements in order to avoid heavy classics and not turn the bathroom into a museum.

3. Crystal Chandelier

Crystal chandeliers are considered an indispensable attribute of luxury, and for good reason. They bring special charm and nobility to the interior. However, they are not often found in bathrooms.

Meanwhile, in order to use them, it is not at all necessary to have a classic interior; they can take root in a different style and become an interesting accent. However, before buying, it is better to estimate the height of the ceiling, in low rooms they can look cumbersome.

2. Mosaic panel

A panel in the bathroom will help create an unusual accent. Most often, this technique is used to highlight the wall behind the bath bowl.

The panels are sold ready-made or made to order in companies that sell mosaics.

1. Sink with a leg

If the bathroom area is large enough and there is no need to fit a cabinet under the sink, you should pay attention to the models on one leg. The pedestal allows you to hide all outlets and siphons and not overload the room.

Classic models look especially interesting in an eclectic interior.
