Polypropylene is the most popular material for water supply wiring in apartments and houses. The material is strong, durable, it can be mounted at a time. Sometimes, after laying the water supply pipes in an open way, black marking stripes remain on the white, beautiful pipes. Which naturally does not please the owners of the premises in aesthetic terms. Even earlier, 10 years ago, designations in the form of red and blue stripes (hot water supply and cold water supply) were applied on PPR pipes
Naturally, so that these strips are not visible, the installation of the pipeline is carried out in such a way that the marking is not visible. The side without the strip should be facing us when soldering the pipes.
This is all good, but sometimes, especially at the end of a working day, it is possible not to overlook the position of pipes and fittings. Then the strip looks at us treacherously. Over the years of work as a plumber, methods have accumulated to remove blackness from whitish pipes.
How to remove stripes - markings from plastic pipes?
Method number 1
The most common method of using an alcohol-containing liquid, you can use antiseptics to disinfect hands, often in isopropyl alcohol. Or, if available, use any solvent. Wet a cloth, for clarity, I show you on a cotton pad and wipe the pipe with a light movement. The inscription will blow away like a wind.
Method number 2
About him I became aware of 10 years ago. When loading pipes into a vehicle, they are usually tied up with duct tape. So, if the sticky side gets on the inscription, then the inscription partially remains on the adhesive layer. In order to remove the marking from the pipe altogether, the adhesive tape must be applied to the inscription three to four times. There is a drawback to this method. The sticky part can remain on the pipe and dirt and dust easily adhere to it.
Method number 3
The most practical and lightest. Does not require the use of any means. We take a rag or any napkin and begin to vigorously rub the "eye-corroding" inscriptions. From the force of friction, the paint heats up and comes off on a napkin or rag. EVERYTHING, nothing else is needed. The only thing, the place of rubbing may darken slightly from rubbed paint.
