Ageratum
It is popularly called long-flowered, as it has a long flowering period. The first buds on ageratum bloom in early summer, and it continues to bloom until late autumn.
Ageratum is a low plant (annual), the height of which does not exceed 60 cm. Usually these flowers are purple in color, but there are also blue, white or pink colors.
Despite the fact that ageratum blooms until late autumn, this plant does not tolerate low temperatures well, and it is grown in the middle lane only in seedlings. In open ground, flowers can be sown in spring only after the threat of spring frost has completely passed. In order for the plant to bloom from early summer to late autumn, it is planted in a sunny meadow and faded buds are constantly cut off.
Asters
They are annual and perennial. These are the real queens of the autumn garden, differing in a variety of shapes and colors. Annual asters can be planted both in open ground and seedlings. In order for them to please with long and late flowering, it is better to choose medium and late varieties.
Perennial asters are also diverse. They are completely unpretentious to care for, and even novice gardeners can easily cope with their cultivation in a flower garden. In autumn, such varieties of asters bloom:

- heather.
Asters will decorate any garden with abundant and lush bloom from September to November. Their height varies from 20 cm to 1.5 m, depending on the type and variety chosen.
Marigold
Also late and completely unpretentious flowers in growing. They are sown directly into open ground in spring, when the threat of severe night frosts has passed. It is best to sow them at the end of May, then they will definitely bloom their buds before the first autumn cold weather.
Autumn helenium
A tall perennial plant with a height ranging from 60 cm to 150 cm. It begins to bloom in August and continues until the end of October. Helenium blooms with red, yellow, orange flowers. This plant is not at all picky to care for and is suitable even for novice gardeners.
Ornamental cabbage
Attracts summer residents with colorful leaves painted in pink, purple, crimson, purple and cream colors. In shape, it can be: corrugated, feathery, fringed. Ornamental cabbage decorates flower beds until the first snow. And if you transplant it into a pot on time and bring it into the house, it will bloom until the New Year.
The average height of ornamental cabbage varies between 60-80 cm. But there are also varieties that reach a height of 1.5 m. This plant does not require any maintenance and easily tolerates frosts down to -8 degrees below zero.
As you can see, for the garden to be filled with a festive mood and bright cheerful colors even in gloomy autumn, it is enough just to plant flowers in it correctly. In order for the flower beds to be full of beautiful colors until the first frost, snapdragons, sedum, should be planted on them, roses, chrysanthemums, ornamental cabbage, asters, ageratum and other flowers that bloom even late in the fall.
