Good day, dear readers!

Wherever you install communications - in an apartment or a private house - most likely you will start doing it with the installation of a household waste drainage system. This system is the largest, the diameter of the pipeline is impressive.

Before proceeding to the direct installation of the sewage system, it is necessary to develop a sketch or drawing on which to mark all functional units of the system: inputs and outputs, sanitary ware, revision holes. Sharp bends in the drainage system should be avoided and slopes should be taken into account.
  • 1. If the diameter of the sewer pipes is 110 millimeters, then the slope should be 2%.
  • 2. If the pipes have a diameter of 50 millimeters, then the slope should not exceed 3%. The optimal solution is to make a slope of 3 centimeters for each meter of the pipe.

Collecting the sewer system is not difficult, but there are some nuances in this process. If you approach the matter frivolously, then after a while leaks may occur in the system, leading to soaking of the soil under the foundation of the building.

Today I will share with you 3 useful life hacks that greatly simplify and speed up the installation of a sewer system.

  • 1. During the installation of the sewage system, the pipes should be securely and tightly joined. If the section is too long, it is difficult to know how deep the pipe has entered the other pipe. Therefore, it is unclear whether the connection is tight.

I recommend making a mark about 45 millimeters from the pipe bevel.

The flare fit should be 50 millimeters. However, it is necessary to take into account the fact that when exposed to temperatures, the pipes expand, and therefore the real planting depth should be less by 5-10 millimeters.

  • 2. If the pipe has to be shortened during installation, be sure to leave the chamfer. For these purposes, use a knife, sandpaper or file.

But I advise you to chamfer with a grinder, with a metal disc installed on it. We fix the tool securely on the ground, pressing it with our foot, and rotate the pipe with our hands. This removes burrs and creates a chamfer.

  • 3. Observing slopes along the entire length of the sewer can be difficult. I recommend doing the following: fix some small things at one end of the bubble level, the height of which corresponds to the length of the level, for example, a bolt, wooden block, nut, etc.

How does it work? Imagine that you need to maintain a slope of 2 centimeters for every meter of pipe. In this case, on one of the ends of the 50-centimeter level, we fix a part, the height of which is 1 centimeter.

I am using an 80cm level, so I use a nut that is 16mm in diameter (this equates to a 2% slope).

The pipe should be laid so that the level bubble is in the center of the flask. Then you will achieve the correct slope.
