A fabulous state, in which there are almost no criminals and unemployed, actually exists. Here, every man who has reached the age of majority receives a plot of land for free, medicine is well developed and education is free. And what is absolutely incredible, on the main public holiday, all debts of citizens are written off.
The cost of water is higher here than gasoline, and the standard of living is so high that the local population does not work in low-skilled jobs, only in highly paid ones. To carry out the first, the labor of visitors - guest workers is used.
But that's not all the pluses. In this unique country, the sun shines for 350 days a year, always warm ocean waters and deserted clean beaches, deserts with beautiful oases and amazing gorges in the mountains. The climate here is also unusual - the combination of climatic and natural zones makes it generally unique.
The name of this country is Oman, and officially it is called the Sultanate of Oman (Arabic "Switzerland", the "fairy tale" of the East is also about it). This state is considered by many to be one of the safest places on our planet.
But just fifty years ago, this state, located on the Arabian Peninsula, was included in the list of the poorest and most backward of all countries in the world. Oman has an absolute monarchy, which, as we see, is not bad at all. The Sultan has complete power. He rules the state, heads the government, holds the posts of the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Defense, is the supreme commander in chief. An outsider will not be able to become a sultan under any circumstances - the post is inherited.
1. Historical reference
Today Oman covers an area of just over 309,000 km2, which is the equivalent of Norway, Poland and Italy, with a population of just over 4,000,000. About the same number live in Kuwait and Croatia.
It is believed that in ancient times the main route of settlement of people from Africa to Asia (South and Southeast) passed here. The first settlers in this area appeared more than one thousand years ago.
During its existence, Oman was part of both the Persian Empire and the Arab Caliphate. In the Middle Ages, some territories of the modern state were a colony of Portugal. By the end of the nineteenth century, almost the entire territory had become a protectorate of the British Empire.

The situation with the transport infrastructure was no better: an international airport, like a seaport, did not exist here. The Sultan was a conservative to the marrow of his bones and in every possible way opposed the reforms and development of the country. As a result, Oman's economy remained at the level of the nineteenth century.
3. Sultan Qaboos Ben Said and magical reincarnations
In 1970, dramatic changes took place. The post of the head of state was taken by the only son of Said Ben Taimur Qaboos Ben Said. The new ruler came to power as a result of a coup in the palace, which would not have happened without the support of Britain.
Since 1970 and until 2020 (until his death) Qaboos Ben Said headed the state. He was able to take the country to another level, making it prosperous. The new sultan received an excellent education in Great Britain. In 1962 g. he became a graduate of the Royal Military Academy, after which he served for several years in the British Army.
After taking over as head of state, Qaboos began implementing reforms almost immediately. It is worth noting that the process was extremely difficult. He immediately eradicated slavery, organized the creation of the media, and began building highways and roads.
In 1964 g. oil was found here. After Qaboos became head of state, the proceeds from her sale were redirected to the welfare of Omani citizens. The construction of an international seaport and airport was completed in 1973. During the reforms, the Sultan was actively helped by advisers from Britain.
During the years of his reign, more than five hundred schools and hundreds of medical institutions were opened. Education and medicine have become completely free. Each of the citizens of the country is provided with a loan to purchase a home. In this case, you do not need to pay interest to the bank. This issue is dealt with by the state. Provided that a person, having reached the age of majority, cannot afford to buy a house on his own, the government gives him a piece of land absolutely free of charge.
