Kamchatka is a region that has a lot of features and differences. One of these is rust on the walls of panel high-rise buildings. The view, to put it mildly, is depressing. And these are relatively old buildings. Practically nowhere in Russia, even where the climate is similar to that of Kamchatka, such a phenomenon is not observed. And there is a logical explanation for this.
In fact, houses are partially rusty, usually from one side, from the end. But sometimes there are structures where rust appears on the facades, although this is a rarity.
What is the reason for such an unusual and creepy phenomenon
Indeed, rust on high-rise buildings, not important on panel or brick houses, arises as a result of local climatic conditions. Kamchatka is characterized by very strong, almost piercing, oceanic winds. Given the fact that they blow too often, houses are being built in this region in the direction of their main streams. Thus, the area on which the wind acts is minimized.
And if the bulk of the residents of the houses feel well, then those who live in the outermost apartments experience many inconveniences and problems. The house is very cold and damp all the time, regardless of the season. No matter how hard a person tries, it will not work to insulate the apartment from the inside. It remains only to try to resist dampness, high humidity and their constant companion - the fungus. But even this is a daunting task.
To remedy the situation, the walls exposed to the wind were insulated from the outside. That is, first the insulation was laid, and then the wall was sheathed with iron.
This helped to solve the problem with dampness and cold in the apartments. Indeed, people have become more comfortable. But they did not think about the side effect. After all, iron is too susceptible to moisture, which in this case is brought by winds, and quickly corrodes.
