Any driver, before getting behind the wheel of his vehicle, learns the basics of traffic rules. One way not to violate them is to follow the directions of the road markings. It is not so difficult to remember what markings on the road surface can be and what each of its varieties means. But often novice motorists are confused in the color designation of the marking - in orange and yellow lines and dotted lines. So what does each of these color markings mean, and which one faces a fine for crossing?

If everything is clear with white road markings. Then the drivers sometimes have doubts about which of the markings - orange or yellow, is more important. Let's start with the easiest one. Orange colored road markings are temporary. Such a shade of lines and dotted lines is found in places where road or repair work is carried out. So, experienced drivers probably know that driving on the side of the road is fraught with a fine. In order to focus the attention of motorists on this, yellow markings are applied on the right side of the road. A continuous line of this color can most often be found outside of settlements. Crossing the 1.4 horizontal markings will result in a penalty. In addition, the solid yellow line prohibits stopping any vehicle (as well as parking). Sometimes it is supported by an appropriate sign (3.27 - "Stopping prohibited"). Such markings can often be found in settlements. It is applied to the edge of the road or to the curb.
There is another option for the yellow marking of the road - the dotted line. Broken line 1.10 prohibits parking of vehicles. May be accompanied by a sign - "No parking" (3.28). By the way, you cannot stand near the yellow dotted line, but you can stop in order to pick up or drop off passengers, as well as unload or load cargo. Stopping is not prohibited if the car does not interfere with other road users. Its duration is no longer than 5 minutes.

The place designated for stopping public transport and parking for taxis is also marked in yellow. A zigzag polyline is drawn either from the edge of the carriageway or shifted to its center (if, for example, there is a tram stop there). All other road users cannot stand on such a yellow marking. As an exception, cars are allowed to stop to drop or pick up passengers.
