The soil requires autumn fertilizers. With their help, crops can more easily tolerate unfavorable weather. I am an experienced gardener and I want to share with you useful information on what fertilizers should be added to the soil in the fall.
Autumn soil treatments in the garden
Fertilizing the soil with the onset of autumn is simply necessary, since directly during this period of the year, cultivated plants tend to accumulate nutrients that help to endure the winter.
These nutrients include potassium and phosphorus, which help in root development and increase immunity to pathogens and cold.
Fertilizing berry bushes
Phosphate fertilizers include superphosphate. To process one berry bush, you will need 1-2 tbsp. l. substances. Fertilizer can be scattered around the trunk circle and embedded to a depth of about 8-10 cm.
Fertilizing under berry bushes
For bushes, I advise you to use superphosphate, which belongs to phosphorus fertilizers. To process the berry bush, I take a substance in the amount of 1-2 tablespoons. I scatter the fertilizer around the plant and place it at a depth of at least 8-10 cm.
In addition, in the form of potassium fertilizer in the fall, you can use such substances as sulfate and potassium chloride in the amount of 15-20 g per square meter. Chlorine will not harm shrubs by the beginning of development, since it will evaporate by that time.
The period of treatments for berry bushes varies. For example, gooseberries need to be fed after September 25, for currant bushes, feeding is performed after September 20-25, and for raspberries - in October.
I usually combine organic fertilizers with mineral fertilizers. So, for example, I put humus (8-15 kg) mixed with potassium sulfate (40 g) under the gooseberry bush. Part of the humus is embedded in the ground, and the remainder is used as mulch.
When feeding currant and raspberry bushes, I mix potash salt in an amount of 40 g with superphosphate (60 g), combine it with humus (10-15 kg) and add it under each plant.
Berry bushes are good for handling chicken droppings. I advise you to add before digging in a proportion of 0.7 kg of substance / 1 sq. m, the interaction of the litter with the roots of the culture should not be allowed. You can water the aisles with a liquid solution from poultry droppings in a ratio of 1:15.
I use wood ash as organic matter, but I use it only once every 3-4 years.
Fertilizers for fruit crops
You can use double superphosphate for feeding apples and pears in a ratio of 30 g per square meter in the trunk circle. Also, annually in the first autumn month, potassium sulfate should be applied as a fertilizer in a proportion of 30 g / 1 sq. m or potassium monophosphate diluted in a bucket of liquid (10-15 g). Processing should be carried out at the rate of 10 l / 1 sq. m.
When feeding plum, cherry and apricot trees, I use the same dosage. From organic matter, I use humus for feeding.
Fertilizers for feeding coniferous varieties
Autumn feeding is useful for trees and pines. For these purposes, the preparations "Florovit", "Fertika" are popular. It is necessary to scatter the granules around the plants. You can simply mulch in the near-trunk circles with the bark of coniferous crops.
Top dressing for garden strawberry bushes
I perform the procedures in September-October. For processing, I use organic matter, preparing a solution of water with the addition of bird droppings. The infusion should stand (2-4 days), water the aisles.
As a mineral fertilizer, a composition is used, which includes nitrophoska (2 tbsp. l.) and potassium salt (20 g). The ingredients are diluted in 10 liters of liquid, watering is carried out at the rate of 1 liter per bush.
Rose bushes processing
When feeding under the root system, you can apply complex autumn fertilizers or make the composition yourself. To do this, use potassium monophosphate (16 g) and superphosphate (15 g), dilute in water (10 L). Use this volume to feed plants on a plot of 4-5 sq. m.
I carry out foliar feeding with ash powder (200 g / 10 l of water). In the fall, I spray with a solution that includes: potassium monophosphate with superphosphate (5 g of substance per bucket of water).
Fertilizing the lily
At the onset of autumn, I carry out the treatment with a solution consisting of potassium magnesium (1.5 tbsp. l.) with superphosphate (two tbsp. spoons of a simple substance and one tbsp. double spoons), diluted in a bucket of water. I use this composition for watering 1 sq. m landings.
Fertilizers for green lawns
To feed the lawn grass, I prefer to use bone meal in the amount of two to three glasses / 1 sq. m, you can apply superphosphate in a proportion of not more than 50 g per 1 sq. m.
From complex fertilizers the preparation "Fertika for a lawn autumn" is well suited. In the fall, I sprinkle ash powder on the lawns.
Feeding in garden plots
The released soil in the garden in the fall needs additional fertilizing. I will tell you what fertilizers can be used for this.
Organic
You can add rotted manure mass or humus in the amount of 3-4 kg per square meter after 3-4 years before digging.
I also use bird droppings (2 kg of substance / 1 sq. m). Cabbage grows well on the ground fertilized with ash.
Siderata
After harvesting the fruits in the garden, you can sow siderates, then they should be mowed and embedded in the ground.
The use of mineral fertilizers in garden beds
To feed the garden land, you can use the following autumn fertilizers:
- superphosphate;
- potassium chloride;
- potassium sulfate.
During the feeding period, strictly follow the instructions for use of the preparations.
