My mother-in-law has a house in the village. She collects drinking water from a spring, which is also visited by people from nearby cities. They collect clean spring water in all kinds of containers.

We used to use 5-liter bottles for water. However, this turned out to be not very convenient, since they take up a lot of space in the trunk, and then at home. Then we started using 20-liter bottles.

During my next visit to the spring, I noticed that people collect water in dirty bottles. They lightly wash them from the outside, rinse them from the inside and that's it. However, the inside of the bottle remains dirty, greens are visible on their walls. How can you then drink spring water from such a container?

My mother-in-law found ways to quickly, easily and cheaply clean the inside of the bottles. Thanks to her advice, our 20-liter bottles are now also free of plaque and algae. They are perfectly clean!

3 useful tips from mother-in-law

1. Eggshell + soda

This method has one drawback - you need to collect a lot of eggshells. To wash one 20-liter eggplant, you need at least 10 shells of eggs.

The shells need to be crushed, but don't overdo it. The output should not be powder, but pieces up to 10 millimeters in size.

The shell should be poured into the bottle. In a separate bowl, mix baking soda and warm water. The number of ingredients is selected taking into account the proportion: for each liter of water - 50 grams of soda. You will need 3 to 6 liters of this mixture.

The finished mixture must be poured into a bottle to the shells. After a couple of hours, the 20-liter should be shaken well to remove all plaque. When the inside of the bottle becomes clean, you need to remove all contents from it and rinse from the inside.

2. Rice

The technology is similar to that described above. Make a mixture of rice, dish detergent and warm water. By the way, for this method, you can take any coarse-grained cereals (buckwheat, millet, etc.). Even small stones will do.

You need to pour the mixture into a bottle, wait, then shake it, make sure it is clean, rinse and use! Water for this method will require no more than 5 liters.

3. Common nettle

Of the three, my favorite is the second. I tried the shell method, but I didn't even bother with the nettle. However, the mother-in-law says that he is as effective as the other two. The main thing is to work with this plant with gloves so as not to burn your hands.

You need to put nettle leaves in a bottle, pour boiling water over them, shake them. The 20 liter becomes clean. And you don't need to buy any chemicals! Everything is environmentally friendly and safe.
