The place that is called "Chukotka Sochi" is Egvekinot. This village was built in 1946. on the coast of the Gulf of Cross. Initially, the settlement was needed to support the operation of the Iultinsky GOK, where one of the largest deposits of molybdenum, tungsten and tin was being developed. Now the village is losing its industrial purpose, gradually turning into a center of tourism.
In Chukotka, this place is considered one of the most attractive. The village is located between the hills, the height of which is about 600 m, on the one hand, and the bay on the other. Up to 3,000 people live here, which is a lot for the region.

If you go to the place from Moscow, then initially you need to spend nine hours in the air in order to fly to Anadyr. After that, transfer to a local flight and another hour of flight. Locals will pay 8,000 rubles for a one-way ticket, as there are subsidies. It will cost tourists 17,000 rubles. And it is quite difficult to buy a ticket, because there are plenty of people willing. The distance to the Arctic Circle from the village is very small. There is a special arch at 24 km of the Iultinskaya highway. Between September and April, you can see the aurora borealis. In the summer, there is excellent fishing and mountain walks along pre-prepared routes.
