If you want to grow a bumper crop in a small area, you can use the experience of the American farmer John Jevons. Of course, this is suitable for warmer regions of Russia, but for a temperate climate, you can take this method into account. The method consists in the use of aerobic and anaerobic bacteria. All this is described in detail in the farmer's book, you can carefully study and apply this technology. I will tell you about this in a more concise and accessible way.

Getting an unprecedented harvest

There is no need to expend supernatural efforts, just strictly follow the advice indicated in the book.

1. Regardless of whether you are planting seedlings or seeds, strictly follow the planting calendar in your area.

2. Plants should be placed on the beds only in a checkerboard pattern, digging holes in accordance with the distances indicated in the book.

3. For the treatment of phytophthora, rot and powdery mildew, use a mullein solution, which is insisted for a week, at the rate of: a third of a mullein to two-thirds of water. Then add dairy scraps such as whey, skimmed milk and buttermilk, as well as rotten hay.

4. Divide the area into beds 120 cm wide and 50 cm apart. Cover with a thick layer of humus, dig it up to the height of the shovel blade and remove the dug layer. Then add more humus, mix again with the soil and put the initially crushed layer on top.

Increasing yields according to the author's method

In the fall, dig up the whole garden with the addition of slaked lime, "fluff". Rains moisten the soil, in winter frozen moisture will create new cavities, and in spring everything will melt, and you will get a loosened soil. In addition, in the spring, anaerobic microbes and earthworms are activated, so the soil will be guaranteed to be loosened a meter deep.

It is necessary to prepare compost all season from any organic waste; in the fall, treat it with any microbial solution purchased in the store. At the same time, take into account that microbes will die from any acid, alkali or salt, therefore, do not use chemistry as fertilizer.

I can give specific examples of the application of the Jevons method on certain crops:

  • specially processed garlic is planted around September. In the spring, root top dressing is applied three times every three days. After germination, the garlic is periodically watered with a microbial solution, always with bacteria;
  • to get an excellent harvest of strawberries, they are planted in the fall and fed by the foliar method three times: after the snow melts, before flowering and when flowers appear;
  • potatoes are processed and germinated, then planted in a hole filled with onion peels. After planting, the entire surface should be watered with a microbial solution.

The composition of the microbial solution according to Jevons

Take two liter cans. In one, dissolve a spoonful of honey per liter of water, in the other, loosen a spoonful of sour cream per liter of serum, mix both solutions. Pour the resulting mixture into a bucket, add 10 g of yeast and top up with water. Insist for two weeks in a dark place and apply to the beds as needed for feeding.

If the climatic conditions in your area are not extreme, then I advise you to try the Jevons method. The results are good.
