The loft style is distinguished by rough textures and raw materials. It combines simplicity, spaciousness and seeming negligence. When trying to independently embody a loft in the interior, many often make similar mistakes.

6. Artificial materials
The loft was formed in the buildings of former factories and factories with their brick walls, concrete ceilings, metal structures and wooden floors. These materials formed the basis of the style - they should prevail in a modern loft too.
This is especially true for finishing - you should give preference to wood, plaster for concrete or microcement. Metal cases and, again, natural wood are welcome in furniture. But plastic-based items are best avoided. They will look appropriate only in a well-built eclectic interior with a reference to the loft.
5. Lots of color
Colors in loft-style interiors do not play a major role. Textures and pronounced textures are of paramount importance. By themselves, they are very active, so additional color accents are often not required.
Color should be included carefully, it can be decor on the walls or oversized furniture, for example, a coffee table. But it's not worth decorating a colored accent wall - the interior runs the risk of looking oversaturated.
4. Deaf partitions
Loft-style interiors attract with a large amount of free space, so there should be as few walls and partitions as possible or not at all. Blind fences contradict the very essence of the loft.
If you need to zone the space, you can use glass partitions in a metal frame or glass blocks. You can also outline the boundaries using the arrangement of furniture or tall indoor plants.
3. White radiators and plastic windows
Modern white radiators against the background of a loft interior will look out of place. An advantageous solution would be old cast-iron batteries, painted black. An alternative option is steel tubular radiators.
White plastic double-glazed windows are also difficult to correlate with a loft. They can be replaced with dark PVC double-glazed windows or aluminum windows. Recently, aluminum profiles with high thermal performance have appeared on the market.
2. Hidden flaws
Loft is tolerant of imperfections: flaws in the finish or even a small chip on the furniture can turn into a highlight. Therefore, do not rush to plaster the historic dilapidated brickwork or cover the beams on the ceiling with plasterboard.
Often the accents in the interior are wiring or sewer pipes. To achieve the best effect, ordinary wires are replaced with braided ones, and standard modern sockets are replaced with antique, outdoor-mounted ones.

In order not to turn your home into a storage room, you should not be zealous with loft decor. Manufacturers offer a wide variety of accessories that will fit into the style of the loft, but you don't need to use them all at once.
If mirrors, pet bowls, clocks, and even a toilet paper holder all broadcast their commitment to the loft, there will be overload. Every detail must be justified and take into account the environment.
