A simple "secret" that will help you cook thin metal without burning through

High-quality welding of thin metal is not at all as easy as it might seem. For experienced craftsmen, they have a considerable chance to make a mistake and simply burn through the material. Almost literal adherence to the welding technology, as well as the correct choice of the machine mode, will help to avoid this.

What you need: welding inverter ARC 375, profile pipe, slag hammer, vernier caliper, electrodes E 6013

Let's say we are faced with the task of welding two shaped pipes with a metal thickness of 1 mm. The root of the problem in performing this task lies in the choice of equipment (electrodes), as well as the correct mode of operation. It should be remembered that if the welding current is too high, burn-through will inevitably occur, and if it is too low, lack of penetration will appear. How can you avoid all this and complete the task correctly?

First, we select E 6013 rutile electrodes. The electrode diameter should be 2.5 mm. On the welding inverter, we set the current strength to 75 A, after which we take the prepared profile tubes and press them together. On one of them, draw equidistant strips with a length equal to the diameter of the electrode, which will be perpendicular to the junction of the two pipes.

Let's go directly to welding. We put the electrode on the extreme strip, after which we begin the translational movement. We lead the electrode from the first to the fourth strip. Then we lift it up and return it to the second one. From the second we lead to the sixth. We open it, return to the third and lead to the eighth. We continue the operation in the described order until we reach the end. After the completion of welding, all that remains is to chop off the slag with a hammer.
