Plumbers, installers of engineering networks, performing their work efficiently and on time, expect to receive a decent remuneration for their work. It is good if an agreement is drawn up and both parties fulfill their obligations under it.
And if there is no contract, the only hope is for the conscientiousness of plumbers and customers. But the installers of water supply and heating systems have an advantage. They always know more about their work done than the owner of the object. Therefore, sometimes tricks are used during installation so that the customer cannot give up his obligations to pay. I'll tell you about one method now. May my brother forgive me.
For the demonstration, I need a diffusion welding machine, in common people a soldering iron. Pipe with a diameter of 20 mm and a connecting sleeve. Instead of a coupling, an angle, tee, cross can be used.
You will also need a coin of 50 kopecks. She's perfect for this trick.
It is necessary to drill a hole in it with a diameter of 2-3 mm, preferably in the center.
Next, we heat the soldering iron and heat the pipe with the coupling, holding a coin with a hole at the ready.
After pulling out the connecting sleeve, insert a coin from the melted side.
This should be done quickly so that the molten plastic layer does not cool down. We take out the pipe from the nozzle and insert it into the sleeve with the coin.
For demonstration, I cut the sleeve and show what happened:
The coin fits snugly into the fitting. If you do not drill a hole, then this monetary unit can be used as a plug, in the absence of a factory product. That sometimes helps out, plumbers will understand what it is about.
What does this trick give when installing pipelines?
Let's say the installer installs this "rogue" in the mounted system. When pressing (pressure test), the hole will allow you to fill the system, pressurize. This fact that the system is holding pressure will allow the installer to ask for a reward for his work.
If the customer starts fiddling with payment, then the heating or plumbing will not work fully. Due to the pressure drop at the point where the coin is connected. And if they pay, then the place with the coin is simply cut out and a clean sleeve is placed. Perhaps the installers will object that you can simply overexpose the soldering iron and narrow the pipe section instead of this method. Yes you can. But there is a chance that then this joint may not be found one hundred percent and you will have to cut out the wrong ones until you find the one you need. To be clean in front of the readers of my blog, I will tell you how this place is located. A magnet is used that will react to the iron in the Russian coin.
