As an experienced gardener, I advise you to pay attention to the Pasalimo F1 cucumber. This early maturing Dutch hybrid is distinguished by long-term fruiting. And if you form a bush correctly, then you can collect a double crop. What else is Pasalimo F1 good for, you will learn from my post.
Description
The Pasalimo F1 cucumber was developed by Dutch biologists. The hybrid was included in the State Register of the Russian Federation in 2005. Its bushes can be grown outdoors and in a greenhouse.
Pasalimo is an early ripe hybrid characterized by medium-sized, powerful bushes. It produces fruits of the gherkin type.
The distinctive features of the hybrid are as follows:
- the harvest ripens in 41 days;
- fruit weight - 80-90 g;
- length - up to 8 cm;
- the color of the fruit is dark green;
- the pulp is juicy, crunches;
- fresh taste, not bitter;
- yield - 14 kg / m²;
- resistance to powdery mildew and spotting.
The calorie content of these cucumbers is low, up to 14 kcal per 100 g of vegetable.
Agrotechnics
I grow Pasalimo F1 cucumbers by direct seeding. I do this in early May. If I grow them through seedlings, then in early April.
The agricultural technology of the hybrid is standard. It includes proper watering, loosening, weeding, fertilizing, and shaping the bushes.
Planting through seeds
Cucumbers need warmth. Soil temperature should be + 15-18 ° С, air temperature - + 20 ° С during the day (+15 ° С at night).
I will organize the landing site on the south side. In the fall I dig it up, fertilize it with humus (10 liters per 1 m²). In the spring - I loosen, I bring in bird droppings (10 liters per 1 m²). I add sawdust with peat to the soil.
I plant the seeds to a depth of 2-3 cm, keeping a distance of 20 cm. I do the row spacing with a distance of 70 cm.
I water the planting with warm water and cover it with agrofibre.
Getting seedlings
I sow seedlings at the end of April. The seeds do not need disinfection and treatment with a growth stimulant.
I make a soil mixture for seedlings using one part of river sand, two parts of peat and compost. I put it in peat containers (volume - 0.5 l).
I deepen the seeds by 2 cm. I put 2 pieces in the hole.
I water the planting with warm water, cover it with cellophane. After the appearance of real leaves, I remove the film, and put the seedlings on a sunny windowsill.
I definitely feed the seedlings. To do this, dissolve 25 g of nitrophoska in 3 liters of water.
I water the plants every 7 days.
After 25 days, I transplant the seedlings to the beds. I make holes (depth - 10 cm) according to the scheme 50x60 cm.
I mulch the planting with hay.
Growing and caring
Cucumbers love loose, nutritious soil. It is better to plant them after dill, parsley, beans, cabbage, onions, garlic.
To grow a good harvest, I follow agricultural techniques:
- I loosen the soil after watering;
- pulling out the weeds;
- I water the bushes at the root;
- I make top dressing, observing the scheme and dosage.
Features of cultivation and possible difficulties
To get a good harvest, I shape the bushes like this:
- I pinch the main lash after 5 leaves;
- I pinch the shoots on the sides over the 3 leaf;
- I remove inflorescences and side shoots up to 6 leaves;
- I cut off the lower foliage.
Pasalimo has unlimited growth, so I tie the bushes to a trellis after 6 leaves appear on them.
Diseases and pests
The hybrid has a strong immunity to olive spot and powdery mildew.
Sometimes a mosaic attacks the bushes. I recognize her by the following features:
- specks on leaf plates;
- rolling leaves;
- developmental delay;
- lumpy fruits.
The main feature of tobacco mosaic is aphids. Prevention and insecticide "Tanrek" helps me to overcome the attack.
In addition to aphids, spider mites attack cucumbers. I destroy it with infusion of dandelion roots.
Landing and slugs are striking. I collect them by hand, and I process the bushes with a solution of ammonia (2 tbsp. l. for 1 liter of water).
How I Harvest and Use the Harvest
I collect the first cucumbers 40 days after pecking the seedlings.
Frequent collection encourages other fruits to appear.
I pickle the fruits of the hybrid, salt, eat fresh.
I store the harvest for up to 20 days in a cool room.
Advantages and Disadvantages of Pasalimo
I attribute the following to the advantages of a hybrid:
- keeping quality;
- early maturation;
- good fruiting;
- ease of care;
- versatility of application;
- excellent taste.
Among the shortcomings, only the shaping of the bushes can be noted.
Pasalimo F1 is an excellent hybrid for growing in the garden. It is unpretentious, resistant to major diseases, yields a large yield of tasty fruits.
