Weeds gave me a lot of trouble on the site. He began to fight them in all possible ways - and won. I share my experience

Weeds are one of the most common problems that every summer resident faces. In order for the site to look well-groomed, and cultivated plants to give a good harvest, the fight against weeds has to be carried out constantly. Now I want to tell you how to do it as efficiently as possible.

Weed control in the fall

At the end of the harvest, I start preparing the site for the next season. One of the mandatory measures is preventive measures against weeds.

I do this:

1. I dug the site onto the bayonet of the shovel.
2. I carefully select all plant residues and roots.
3. Loosening.

In places where weeds grow especially strongly and quickly, I use herbicides. I purchase the product in a specialized store and dilute it strictly in accordance with the instructions. I recommend processing the treatment on a dry, windless day, so that the composition does not get on cultivated plants and does not harm them.

Continuous herbicides

Powerful, effective remedies that completely destroy all vegetation. Among the compositions I have tested, I have identified the following:

1. Glyphosate. The action is based on organophosphorus compounds, which, getting into plant tissues, disrupt the process of amino acid synthesis and lead to complete destruction.
2. Hurricane Forte. Has shown its effectiveness not only in the fight against plants, but also shrubs.
3. Roundup. Destroys not only the green mass, but also the root system.

I use these preparations exclusively in the autumn period, since there is enough time before planting of cultivated plants for them to completely cease their effect.

But the compositions show the greatest efficiency when treating weeds in the growing season. In this case, I recommend covering all other plantings with a film to protect them.

Continuous herbicides in one place are used no more than 1 time in 3 years.

Electoral compositions

These drugs are not as powerful as the above, but I like them because they do not cause much harm to cultural plantings.

In the autumn period, I treat with selective herbicides:

• lawn;
• winter garlic;
• raspberries;
• garden strawberries and some other plantings.

I have allocated the following funds:

1. Lontrel for lawn, garlic and strawberry treatment. Has shown its effectiveness against weeds such as thistle, chamomile, dandelion.
2. Devrinol. I use it for embedding in the ground, sinking 4 cm. I use it in planting raspberries, grapes and currants. Fights nettles, chamomile, thistle, shepherd's bag.
3. "Hacker" is good at fighting weeds on lawns. With its help, you can get rid of buckwheat, ragweed, dandelion, cornflower.

Folk remedies

The safest and most environmentally friendly. They do not harm cultivated plants. The most common recipe I use is acetic acid.

I use components:

• vinegar 9% - 4 l;
• salt - 100 g;
• liquid soap - 100 ml;
• water - 10 liters.

I mix the components thoroughly and leave for 2 hours. Then I water the weeds with the resulting solution.

After 3 days I repeat the treatment.

The maximum efficiency was shown by a mixture of 5 liters of vinegar, 1 tbsp. l. table salt, diluted in 10 liters of water. But I use such a solution with care so as not to harm the landings.

So, with weeds, I begin to fight as soon as it makes itself felt. I carefully weed the plantings, choosing leaves and roots. In the fall, I process the site. If there are few weeds, I use folk remedies or biological preparations. Only as a last resort I resort to herbicides.
