Greetings, dear professionals and amateur self-builders!

I know from myself that the selection of building materials for your own home is another headache! The construction market is overflowing with goods and advertising information. Cheap material looks ugly, but what looks attractive - the price rises to heaven.

For about two months I thought and rushed from side to side, what material for cladding to look at and once, on the way to Krasnodar, I saw a beautiful house, or rather a beautiful brick, with which the workers were facing cottage. Masonry mortar - ordinary cement-sand mortar with white cement (price 850 rubles per 50 kg). By the way, ordinary gray quarry sand was used, the solution turns out to be beige... Very beautiful!

After talking with the craftsmen, I calculated the budget and decided to repeat their idea ...

Facing my house:

... the brick came out to me 4 years ago 12.5 rubles per piece. Now, the brick, which is faced with my house, is about 17-18 rubles. This is an excellent price against the background of a brick for 30-40 rubles (this is the same cost for expensive color options). I didn’t even take the clinker type for comparison, it almost all starts from 50 rubles.

So...

... this is the brick that my house is made of. Many do not believe it, but it is! Ordinary backing bricks are solid plastic molded. M100 grade, frost resistance F50:

When you saw, sparks fly from the grinder ...

The fact is that at the moment we still have old Soviet-era kilns for firing clay in our country. This brick is not hand-molded, but each piece has its own unique pattern. This is a common backfilling, but conveyor molding has remained since the 80s and has not changed... In our shops in the Rostov region, now such a brick costs about 14 rubles. I took it from a brick factory in the village of Staroshcherbinovskaya, Krasnodar Territory.

The cost of the brick itself is 14 rubles, and the remaining 3-4 rubles on the brick run up due to the transformation of the usual color of the product into color. The brick is impregnated with special agents that do not fade and do not wash off under the onslaught of our precipitation ...

This is the only disadvantage of this solution! Before laying the house, I fiddled for a whole month and gave color to 16,000 pieces of bricks. This, of course, can be done by bricklayers, only they will take 2 more "rubas" per brick in addition to the masonry.

So, the impregnation process ...

Impregnation is done exclusively with dry bricks, if it was lying in the rain, then you need to wait until it dries! The composition is poured into a bath and each brick is dipped for about 3-4 seconds to a depth of 1-2 cm. Each brick dries for about 15 minutes and then it can be put back on the pallet.

This is how it gets impregnated:

Impregnation

The market offers a bunch of color options for stone and concrete, but I only took the compounds for impregnating wood and applied them to the color of the brick. The fact is that only these compositions contain iron oxide, which prevents the saturated color from fading in the sun.

The house is 4.5 years old:

Used water-based Sayerlack and Tikkurila (not advertising). The water base ensures the vapor permeability of the brick and does not prevent moisture from escaping from the material. Usually, the impregnations are called "for wood for outdoor use, water-based", the sellers know.

The price is 600-800 rubles per liter (the price depends on the color of the tinting). Yes, it's expensive, but in terms of a brick, it comes out about 3.5 rubles per brick. Consumption for 1000 bricks - 5 liter jar.

I think this is a great option to save your budget instead of buying expensive bricks!

P.S.
The publication is not of an advertising nature, but only describes a detailed process for painting bricks using compositions from specific manufacturers, which were acquired by the author for personal purposes.
