Tired of splattering paving slabs with fat while frying a kebab! Found a great solution for the barbecue area (my photos)

I believe that in every private courtyard there must be a designated area for cooking various dishes on fire and on coals. I had a brazier for a long time, and more recently I made a saj and also purchased a cauldron, so I had to make a round stove for them. I chose the best option, I welded it from two "Gazelle" disks.

At the end of November, I finished all the work on the yard, so I had not yet had time to make the gazebo, but I had already planned the place and just near it I equipped an area for cooking food on the grill. It turned out that it is located on the recently laid paving slabs.

First, I tried out a recently made saj, from which fat flies 3 meters in all directions :-)))

Then, I cooked pilaf a couple of times and I also made shish kebab twice. And after a while, he began to notice spots on the tiles that simply cannot be washed out by the rain ...

... I realized it was fat. Since it doesn't wash off in the rain, I tried to scrub them off with a brush. They were no longer visible so clearly, but I realized that if I continued to cook here, a large dark spot would soon form under my feet.

So-so perspective :-)))

Mangal zone

I decided to move the barbecue area to the side of the garden on the other side of the gazebo and allocated for this a piece of land about 10 sq.m. (2.5 x 4 m.)

And I don't want to knead the dirt, so I spread the geotextile and poured rubble on it, raising this area 20 cm from the ground.

But he didn't just pour out the crushed stone, but bought another ton of rubble (at a price like crushed stone of 850 rubles per ton) and already made a fence with a stone so that the rubble would not slip into the garden. The stone fence is laid out in 3 rows and is located at a slope so that the stone itself does not slip.

Then, from the brought stone, I chose the flattest and largest boulders and rammed them into the rubble, making a flat platform.

I sprinkled the gaps between the stones with rubble again. Immediately I made a small firewood and moved the stove and barbecue to a new place!

The rubble stone does not absorb fat so well, and even if it does, I do not feel sorry for it at all. It can always be turned over or replaced with a clean one.

Here is such a beautiful corner for cooking:

Now the tile does not suffer!

Recently I raised the site and added 10 cm of black soil, and planted persimmons next to the barbecue area :-) Let's see how it will be accepted in our region, I decided to wrap it up from ice and wind in the first year. In general, the seller said that he kept -35 ° C with the proviso that if something happened, he would return 500 rubles for which I bought a seedling from him :-)))

It turned out very cozy. Now, the whole family gets aesthetic pleasure!
