Have you encountered a problem when plastic window sills and window frames turn yellow over time? It looks very unpleasant and spoils the general appearance of the interior of the room.
It is advisable to wash them thoroughly every six months, not to mention the regular wiping of dust and dirt. The plastic turns yellow from constant exposure to the sun. Today I want to share with you the ways that help me keep the perfect whiteness of window sills and window frames!
First of all, I want to warn you: do not wash plastic with products that contain alcohol. Because of this, the material will gradually dissolve, over time, its surface will become dull. You can use alcohol only when other means have not helped, i.e. as a last resort!
Do regular cleaning regularly: wipe the windowsills with a damp cloth. This will not save you from yellowing of the plastic, but it will delay it for some time.
Tool number 1
This is my favorite remedy and I use it the most. I tell you: you need to mix water and vinegar in equal parts. This solution works well with grease, dirt and has a whitening effect. If you treat plastic with this product a couple of times a year, it will shine whiteness. It is best to wipe the windowsills with microfiber or sponge rags.
Tool number 2
It was once my favorite. These are melanin sponges. But I often forgot to buy them, and therefore I had to get out with improvised means. Someone says that such sponges harm plastic, but I am not our proof of this. Melanin washes away both plastic and other surfaces, so the product is universal.
Tool number 3
Once I washed the windowsills with "whiteness". Note that this option is not suitable for everyone. Although the plastic turns white, the room smells accordingly after that. On the market, you can find special products for bleaching plastic with a less pungent scent.
Rumor has it that you can wash everything with laundry soap, but it didn't impress me. Washes away only small dirt. Those that are stronger and older cannot cope. Maybe, of course, I did something wrong, but I didn't like this method.
