A woodshed or woodshed is a simple design, often rectangular, designed for storing firewood. Protects them from precipitation in the form of snow and rain, it is specially made open for good airflow, which minimizes the likelihood of wood decay.

So I decided to do this thing ...

After building the house, I was left with a few solid 1-inch boards and a lot of scraps. Therefore, so that they do not rot behind the house idle, I decided to put them into operation and brought to life the idea - a compact and convenient woodshed for my barbecue area.

The dimensions of my firewood are as follows:

  • Height: 1.7 m;
  • Depth: 0.5 m;
  • Length: 1.1 m

After I sketched the sketch of the product on paper, I picked up the trims of the boards that were suitable for the dimensions in the drawing, and cut the missing ones from the whole leftovers.

Then, using a gas burner, I burned them well and brushed them with a nylon brush, giving them a beautiful brown tint and highlighting the structure of the wood:

Using self-tapping screws, he pulled off the structure, leaving 90 cm for storing firewood

and 20 cm under a common roof for inventory.

I raised the area for placing firewood a little so that in winter they would not drip in the snow, as well as get wet less from splashing rain. I did not sew up the back and sides to ensure airflow from all sides:

On the roof I threw a piece of metal tile, which, by the way, also remained from the time the house was built. The result is the following construction:

The costs are penny, such a woodshed will require 15-20 running meters of an inch board, and the roof can be made from the remnants of any sheet material - the same slate, galvanized or profiled sheet.

On the left side of the woodshed, I left a place under the roof to place the ax and hung the equipment for convenience of working with coals: a poker and a scoop, which he also made with his own hands and painted with black heat-resistant paint:

The result is such an original, convenient, compact, and at the same time, a spacious solution for storing firewood:

Of course, for a bath, such a solution will not be enough, but for a barbecue area it suits us just right!

And that's all, thanks for your attention!
