Immediately after buying the dacha, I cut down a few fir trees near the gate. They were already old and a little rotten, so they were completely useless. But after them 2 stumps remained, which spoiled the overall picture. I decided to get rid of them, but it was not that easy. It takes a long time to uproot by hand, and a lot of dirt will appear on the site.
Fortunately for me, I learned an effective way to quickly get rid of stumps in the area. It was not necessary to uproot them, as I had originally wanted.
My first idea was to use ammonium nitrate. But one friend told me that this should not be done. Saltpeter begins to "eat away" the stumps only after a few months. In my case, there was no time to wait, since the stumps interfered with the passage into the courtyard. I started looking for other options and found it. My wife did not believe that this method would be effective, but she was pleasantly surprised at the result.
To begin with, I drilled large holes in the stumps, then took old rags and doused them with gasoline. Then they followed deep into the stumps, where I set them on fire. In such a simple way, the wood started slowly smolder and turn into coals.
The rags with gasoline burned out quickly enough, and the process began to slow down. I decided to speed it up myself, since there was no time to wait. Bonfire smog warm up with a vacuum cleanerwhich I directed at the embers. The device must work for blowing.
The whole process lasted a whole day, but it was worth it. Not a trace of the stumps remained. I threw salt at the roots so that they would not germinate in the future. The method is as simple as possible, but at the same time effective. The stumps stopped interfering when entering the gate. And the time spent is not a pity, since I did not uproot them myself from the ground.
I hope you liked this method and it will come in handy sometime in your life!
