In my flower beds I always try to achieve continuous flowering - this is what you need to do for this.

Choosing flowers for a summer residence is not easy for me. I want them to decorate the garden throughout the summer, and caring for them was not too burdensome. I tried to select plants by flowering time and care. If you plant nearby flowers that love abundant watering and are drought-resistant, then there is a high probability that they will suffer - some from excessive moisture or others from drought. But I seem to have succeeded.

Which one to choose - annual or perennial?

I did not think about this question. Both are good in their own way, I can't imagine a garden without spring planting and caring for perennials.

Letniki give such bright colors and their variety that, perhaps, they will surpass perennial plants in this indicator. Knowing the timing of the flowering of annuals, you can ensure that the flowerbed blooms all summer continuously, changing from one color to another. And there are flowers, like marigolds, whose bushes bloom from May until frost.

With the help of the summer cottages, every year the dacha plays with different colors. But perennials bloom, as a rule, for a long time, from early spring to late autumn.

How to choose flowers based on care

All irises love the sun, and I love irises, so different varieties are planted on the site. Since they have different soil moisture requirements, they grow in different places.

I settled the marsh iris where the soil water is close, and in the company with him was the willow-loaden grass.

Siberian iris does not like excessive moisture. It grows next to daylily and peony. In early summer, all of these plants form a colorful group. And after they have faded, the foliage remains decorative.

The bearded iris does not particularly like its neighbors, but it blooms beautifully next to the Japanese spirea.

Hosts can find a place in any composition. However, they are good enough in and of themselves. In the frame of a flower garden or along a path, they look good. I dilute them with charming pink astilba. She adds bright colors to the shy host.

What annual plants bloom all summer

Continuous flowering is what I want to achieve. To do this, I plant the appropriate flowers.

Dimorfoteka loves fertile soils and sunny places. Blooms from early summer to October.

I love the cosme for the incredible beauty of the foliage. It is decorative and without flowers, it looks like a small bush. I plant a simple and terry. Simple blooms earlier, and terry is more beautiful. Not afraid of frost.

Echscholzia Californian with its carved foliage and bright flowers attracts attention. However, I like erect flowers more, so I do not plant escholzia every year.

Mattiola, or night violet, came to my taste when I first breathed in its scent. Its flowers are delicate, but invisible. It is more appreciated just for the smell.

Snapdragon is striking in its diversity: height, color, structure of flowers - you can find it for every taste.

Perennials blooming all summer

Perennial flowers that delight with their continuous flowering also exist. It is worth planting at least some of them so that the garden gives the impression of a holiday. These are the ones that grow with me.

Salvia oak, or sage, will not cause any problems with care. It tolerates frost perfectly and is very fragrant.

Delicate flowers of gypsophila are able to conquer any heart. They are planted in the background due to their high growth.

Having learned how to correctly select flowers, taking into account their care and the timing of flowering, I ensured that my garden bloomed continuously throughout the summer, striking with an abundance of various shades and smells.
