How to join 2 round pipes at 90 degrees. Cunning marking with a pair of corner magnets (no calculations at all)

Greetings to all subscribers and guests of the channel. For guests, here we share working tips on welding and locksmithing with self-taught beginners. If you apply our advice, then a weekend welder will get normal results much faster.

I'll show you a plumbing trick if you need to join 2 round pipes at 90 degrees. We do not need any formulas and calculations. We will apply only what is shown in the photo above - 2 corner magnets and a marking pencil. Well, of course, a grinder to cut unnecessary parts from pipes.

Both pipes, which we will mark for joining, must have their ends evenly cut off. It is very important.

We put one pipe vertically on the other so that their edges are on the same line. We mark on the lower horizontal pipe the place of the edge of the vertical pipe.

So we set aside a distance equal to the diameter of the pipe. now we swap the pipes and make a similar markup on the second pipe. Now the corner magnets will come into play.

We put the first magnet along the pipe axis so that its 2 long sides look at 45 degrees to the pipe axis. We rest the second magnet flat on the first, but it must also touch the plane of the pipe.

We apply the marking pencil tightly to the magnet inclined flat and we move this whole structure and adjust it so that the pencil stem rests on the mark on the pipe. The layout design is ready, now see how to mark it up.

The pencil is pressed against the magnet, at this moment it will be exactly at 45 degrees to the axis of the pipe. Now just carefully make a line in one and the other side of the pipe. Do not press hard on the pencil so as not to move the magnet. And the correct markup is obtained. Now I'll show you closer.

Here is such an even semicircle. That's it, now we carefully cut ourselves with a grinder along this markup and exit the cutting disc to the end of the pipe. We cut.

When we cut off an unnecessary segment, we definitely need to look at the cut plane. There are some small protrusions on one side relative to the other. We immediately grind them with a grinder to a uniform plane. We cut it off, now we join it at 90 and see what happens.

Here is such a nice, fairly accurate joint obtained if you apply this plumbing trick. Again, we did not do any calculations, only a magnet and a pencil.

A detailed video with the process of this markup and cutting will be uploaded to the channel on Tuesday, January 18th. If you're interested, don't miss out.
