Many thanks to my reader who advised me to use FTP to exchange data between a smartphone and a computer. It turned out to be mega-convenient and super fast!
The method is good because you don't need to register anywhere, remember logins and passwords, set up complex applications. Everything is as simple as three kopecks:
We put a tiny one from the Market Wi-Fi FTP Server.
The beauty of this app is that it doesn't try to autostart and only works when it's needed.
We go into the application, click "Run". The server address, username and password will appear.
In my case, the address is 192.168.1.200, port 2221, login and password are android.
We connect to this FTP with any FTP client from a computer. Of course, I use FAR for this.
If you prefer the Windows interface, I can recommend a small, simple, free and portable FTP client FTPrush.
To connect to FTP, press the very first button (connect) in it, select the "quick connection dialog" and enter the server parameters.
After that, you can download any files (of course, including photos and videos) from your phone and upload any files to it. You can also delete files on your phone.
A big plus of this method is that when copying from the phone, the dates and times of the files are not corrupted (with all other methods, including transmission by cable, the dates and times of the files are lost).
The Wi-Fi FTP Server app has a settings menu, but you don't have to change anything there. You don't have to worry about logins and passwords, because all this works only on the local network, and not on the Internet.
It turned out that even in order to copy several files from someone else's phone, it's faster to put a Wi-Fi FTP Server on it than to mess with wires, a flash drive or transferring via the Internet.
All in all, I highly recommend it!
