Another advantage of using a hose is the fact that the water has time to heat up as it moves through the tube, and at the outlet its temperature is comfortable for the plants.
If you need to quickly water a large area of landings, you can connect the required number of additional ones to the main hose using adapters.
If you have a large area, you should purchase a hose with a reel. Otherwise, it will have to be constantly carried, at the risk of crushing tender landings.
Basic rules for watering crops
Each horticultural crop has its own care needs, including watering. However, there are some general rules to follow:
- The average water consumption per square planting is up to 25 liters.
- During watering, it is worth avoiding the formation of puddles on the surface of the soil.
- For watering seedlings, it is worth using mainly a watering can.
- When watering crops, it is important to keep the nozzle of the watering can or hose as close to the ground as possible.
- Do not irrigate during the daytime, when the aggressive sun can burn the green mass.
Alternative and efficient watering methods
With the advent of special devices and systems, the life of gardeners has become much easier: there is no longer a need to carry heavy buckets of water around the site.
One of the most advanced methods is the automatic method of water supply. With this approach, the risk of waterlogging and rotting of the root system is eliminated, as a result of which the plants may die.
Automatic watering allows you to save water consumption, and also makes it possible to irrigate without being on the owner's site.
Such a system can be purchased ready-made or designed with your own hands.
