Managing "smart devices" from a smartphone is not always convenient. Finally, it is possible to control them with a simple push of a button.

Manage smart devices without a smartphone

"Smart devices", or rather devices controlled via Wi-Fi, are now at the height of fashion: many manufacturers have begun to produce such light bulbs, lamps, sockets, cornices.

All this is supposed to be controlled from a smartphone, but anyone who has tried such control knows that this is quite inconvenient: for first you need to find a smartphone, then unlock it, then launch the application, then find the desired device there and click on the desired button.

In many cases, it would be much more convenient to simply press a button on a separate switch-remote, but most manufacturers of the same "smart bulbs" do not produce such remotes.

Relatively recently, various remote switches for the Tuya platform, which runs the vast majority of smart devices from different brands, have appeared on sale. On Aliexpress, these remotes can be searched by the phrase Tuya Scene Switch.

There is remote control in the form of a conventional switch with 1, 2, 3 keys or 4 buttons.

There is in the form of a small console.

Three functions can be programmed for each button - for short press, long press and double click.

Any press can either control one function of one device (for example, turn on/off the light), or control multiple devices simultaneously by executing scripts. This is configured in the application on the smartphone.

All these remote switches work on the ZigBee radio protocol, so you will need another hub Tuya Zigbee Hub.

The need for a hub is due to the fact that all these remotes are battery operated, and making a battery-powered device permanently connected to Wi-Fi is impossible (if these remotes connected to Wi-Fi only after pressing a button, the command would be transmitted for 10 seconds or even more), and ZigBee was originally designed for maximum savings energy.

Perhaps there are remote switches with Wi-Fi and mains power, but I have not yet seen such.

I ordered a hub and a four-button switch for testing. from this seller for the simple reason that there is a free return and if something goes wrong, they can be returned without losing anything. When they come, I'll set everything up and tell you what happened.
