Speaking of reliable German-made budget engines, the first thing that comes to mind is the BSE 1.6 MPI unit with a volume of 1.6 liters. The engine has gentle power - only 102 "horses". Thanks to this, the installation is able to operate up to half a million kilometers without major repairs. BSE 1.6 MPI has only one drawback: since 2015, the unit has been discontinued from mass production. Today, it most often comes across under the body of the Skoda Octavia, Golf, Jetta and Passat.

3. Asian tigers
There are two South Korean-made engines at once, which you should definitely remember. These are sister units with the aluminum cylinder block G4FA and G4FC. The first has a volume of 1.4 liters and a return of 107 horsepower. The second has a volume of 1.6 liters and a return of 123 horsepower. If the engines are not overloaded on a regular basis and the oil is changed in a timely manner, then they will last more than the cherished half a million.
