When it comes to organizing grounding in a private house, most domestic electricians are likely to offer the good old "triangle". However, this is not always the case, is it? What is the “mysterious power” of this method and is there any point in dwelling on this method of organizing grounding today.
In fact, there is no "mystery" here. In most cases, electricians will simply offer to use the simplest and at the same time one of the most reliable grounding schemes that have been proven over the years. A trench 1.2 meters deep rolls near the house in the form of an equilateral triangle. A triangular structure is installed in it, placed on pins or corners 2.5 meters long. However, where did this method come from?
The fact is that in the PUE there are no exact descriptions of the method of grounding with a triangle, but you can find recommendations on how to use metal parts of fences as grounding. And the thing is that safety rules appeared at a time when electricians did not have a special choice of technologies and materials for creating grounding in a house. For the most part, banal steel was used. And it has one extremely bad quality: steel rusts, which causes a risk of violating the integrity of the safety structure.
That is why, many years ago, electricians found a simple way out of a difficult situation - to make grounding complex in shape. So that even if something happens to one part of the structure, the second one continues to work properly. Nowadays, there are special kits for organizing grounding in the house and on the site. The materials in them, as a rule, have a shelf life of 100 years. However, such sets cost a lot of money, so many owners prefer to do the old fashioned way from more affordable materials.
