How to prepare seeds and soil for planting

Experienced gardeners advise using fresh seeds. To achieve better germination, it is necessary to warm them up and then soak them in an ash solution. To do this, you need to take 2 tbsp. l. ash and a liter of water.

If you plan to sow seeds in open ground, you need to feed the soil in advance. To do this, you need to dig a hole, mix the earth with compost and return the mixture back. Land for planting can be purchased at a specialized store.

In the southern regions, seeds should be sown immediately in open ground, in the northern regions, seedlings should be planted in cups.

As soon as the soil is warmed up to about 15 degrees, you can sow the seeds.

How to sow seeds outdoors

  1. Dig holes. Please note that the distance between them should be from 60 to 100 cm.
  2. Water the hole.
  3. Arrange the seeds in three different corners.
  4. Sprinkle the seeds with soil.
  5. Cover the seeds with foil.
  6. When the first seedlings appear, remove the film.
  7. Leave a few strong seedlings, remove the rest.

Planting seeds for seedlings is carried out in the same way.

The soil must be regularly loosened and weeds removed. All varieties of honey pumpkin are resistant to various pests and diseases. However, if the plant is still sick, then the use of special preparations will be required.
