The Rosara potato variety is popular among gardeners. The bush is not sprawling, medium in size, but oval-shaped tubers. Up to 18 potatoes are harvested from one bush. Each fruit can reach 150 g. Differs in good transportability.
Rosara is an early variety. The fruits can be harvested approximately 70 days after planting.
Advantages and disadvantages
The variety is adapted to different weather conditions, and is also resistant to diseases. Potatoes don't fall apart when cooked. The disadvantages include the fact that the taste is fully revealed in ripened fruits.
Growing potatoes
To get a good harvest, it is important to observe the planting dates. It also requires quality land and proper preparation for planting. The variety is thermophilic, it is not planted in early spring.
It is recommended to plant potatoes where they previously grew:
- legumes,
- zucchini,
- pumpkin,
- cucumbers,
- cabbage,
- beet.
Nightshades are not suitable as predecessors.
Priming
Chernozem and clay soil are recommended for the Rosara variety. The place should be changed annually. In the autumn, weed a plot of soil where potatoes will be planted in the spring. It is recommended to fertilize the soil with humus or purchased fertilizer. When spring comes, the earth is again dug up when the air temperature reaches +10 degrees.
planting material
It is better to buy tubers and seeds in trusted specialized stores. For processing, you need to sort out the tubers, utilizing the fruits with defects. For planting, specimens weighing up to 100 g are suitable. When spring comes, these tubers are taken out to a lighted and warm place. There they will take root.
A week before planting, the vegetable must be hardened. For this, the tubers are placed in the cellar. The temperature should be around +5 degrees.
Landing technology
A few hours before planting, you need to cut the potatoes so that each part has a sprout. Next, the tubers are placed outside to dry. The earth is fertilized with a mixture of crushed ash and eggshells. You can also add onion skins to it.
If the soil contains sand, then holes should be made up to 10 cm, and if there is a lot of clay, then the depth of the holes should be up to 8 cm. The distance between the holes should be 0.5 m.
The pits are first filled with fertilizer, then potatoes are placed and all this is buried. Next is watering.
culture care
After the emergence of seedlings and their lengthening up to 10 cm, weeding should be carried out and weeds should be removed. Within a month and a half, weeding is carried out three times with breaks of a week.
It is also important to carry out hilling. This is necessary to cover the stems with soil. So the culture is more protected from pests. Hilling is carried out 2 times in 2 weeks. Potato bushes also need to be watered every ten days.
In the heat, up to 5 liters of water are spent on one potato bush. If it rains, the soil does not need to be moistened. It is recommended to fertilize with mullein and water. For 1 square meter you need 10 liters of funds. For cooking, mix a bucket of manure and four buckets of clean water. To prevent parasites from appearing on plants, seedlings are treated with copper sulphate. Take 1.5 large spoons of vitriol and dilute in 10 liters of water.
