Help with minor breakage
If the branch is connected by bark to the trunk, then it is worth cutting down the broken branch. Next, the saw cut should be treated with a special healing paint or pitch.
You can put on a tire. For this:
- Take 2 wooden blocks,
- wrapping a branch,
- Tie 2 elements with a rope,
- They try to make the connection more precisely,
- The site is painted over with pitch.
After harvesting, in the autumn, this tree should be fed with a fertilizer complex with calcium, phosphorus and potassium.
If breaking off occurred in winter, then you need to save the tree immediately. If the branch was damaged in the spring, when there are buds on it, then they should be cut off.
If a branch with fruits breaks off, then you need to collect all the apples from this area and apply a tire. Within 1-2 years, the kidneys should be cut off.
Breaking off a seedling
If the seedling is broken, then you need to remove the branch below the break point by 1 bud. If the branch is broken at the base, then in the place where it departs from the trunk, you need to trim. The damaged area is cleaned and smeared with pitch. Next, the seedling is planted in a permanent place.
If the trunk is damaged in the trunk area, then you need to clean the affected area and treat it with resin. If the seedling has broken in the place of the bole above the grafting point, then you need to plant it in a separate place until it is fully restored.

- Cover the base of the seedling with a composition of vitriol, mullein, clay and ash.
Next, the place is wrapped with a bandage and the surface is lubricated with a regenerating solution. In autumn, you need to remove the bandage, wash off the mixture, but leave the rope. Cracks should be treated with garden pitch. The same procedure is carried out in the spring.
Breaking a large branch
With such a bummer, the algorithm works:
- Remove all parts of the bark and wood chips,
- Use a chisel or a well-sharpened knife,
- Allow the wound to dry slightly.
- Evenly treat the area with special paint or pitch using a spatula,
- Additionally wrap the damaged area with a garden bandage or burlap, do not remove it until spring.
What to do when breaking off thin branches
The situation can be resolved. For this:
- With a knife, irregularities and remnants of the bark at the break point are removed,
- Give the plant time to recover
- Wrap the area with a plastic bag,
- Periodically inspect for rot under the package and clean if necessary.
Help with breaking off part of the trunk with a branch
A tree can stop bearing fruit and die if the trunk breaks. To save her, you need to take a stiff brush and remove the bark. Cracks should not be rotten. Otherwise, bacteria will get there, and a hollow will form. The wound must be allowed to dry. Next, the place is treated with putty from the store or garden pitch.
