6 tricks in construction and repair, which many have forgotten or did not know

What people do not invent to simplify their lives. For example, when you need to save on expensive materials, improvised means are used. When the right tool was not at hand, various household items are used. Today's article is devoted to the tricks used by home masters. If you haven't heard about them yet, read on!

1. We fix the self-tapping screw in a loose hole

Do you know when the holes in the corners or plates become loose, move apart? As a result, screwing a self-tapping screw into them becomes almost impossible.

To return the holes to their lost shape and size, to reduce their diameter, ordinary toothpicks, matches or plastic clamps are used.

2. Bend the nail

If from a wooden board, shelf, etc. a nail sticks out, it is aesthetically ugly and dangerous, because you can get hurt. Pliers are used to bend it. You can solve the problem more radically - bite off the protruding end with wire cutters, and then sand the surface.

I share another method. Install a drill bit in the drill and drill a hole in the hammer. Its diameter should be ½ of the thickness of the tail. The hole will help to cling to the nail by the hat, and then gently bend it. After that, it remains only to hammer the nail closer to the surface. I recommend bending it across the board so that it holds more securely.

3. Cut the cylinder straight

If you have ever had to cut cylindrical objects (like a pipe), then you know that this is not easy. As a rule, there remains an uneven cut that has moved to one of the sides. A regular clamp tightened on the cylinder will help fix the problem. It is desirable that it differs in color from the color of the cut object.

4. We fix the wires with clamps

Plastic ties are an indispensable assistant for any home craftsman. With their help, you can fix almost everything, including wiring. The method is very reliable and proven!

It is necessary to make a hole in the wall, put a collar folded in half into it. The screed lock should not hang, but should be pressed against the wall along with the tip. A self-tapping screw is screwed into the free space remaining between the “branches” of the clamp. The wire is tightened, the excess tail of the tie is cut off.

5. We connect the boards in a simple way

To tightly connect two boards, you need to ensure their reliable adhesion along the length. This can be done with nails and wire. Nails are driven into the board in a checkerboard pattern, braiding them alternately, pulling the wire. Then the nails are hammered to the caps, the board is turned over and the tips of the nails are similarly braided with wire. The ends are bent for safety and convenience.

6. We wind the fum-tape in places where it is difficult to get close

To wind fum-tape in hard-to-reach places, you can use this life hack. Wrap a piece of tape around the end of the pencil. Then the pencil is pushed into the right place, holding the other end. This helps to facilitate the thread sealing process.
