For three and a half years, the Ninebot ES1 electric scooter has become an indispensable vehicle for me. Thanks to him, I even started going to the country without a car.

A week ago something terrible happened - my favorite transport broke down.

The Ninebot ES electric scooter broke down, and I fixed it

While trying to go up a very steep hill (I even remember that it was Olof Palme Street), the scooter turned off and did not turn on again. After a couple of hours, he nevertheless turned on, but the malfunction symbol immediately began to flash and the scooter emitted one long squeak and four short ones. After some time, the scooter began to turn on normally, but when you tried to move it from its place (without pressing the gas trigger), the same squeaks with an error code began.

Nothing to do, had to disassemble. I even took out the controller to make sure that there were no black burnt tracks on it, as shown in some videos about repairing such scooters, but everything turned out to be visually intact.

It turned out that one of the three connectors of the motor wires had melted and turned into a permanent connection. I had to bite it off and replace it with Wago 222.

Although the connector rang with zero resistance, after replacing it with Wago, everything worked.

The fact that an error with one long and four short beeps means the loss of motor contacts is also confirmed by the fact that the same error appears if the motor wires are simply disconnected.

Apparently, when trying to go up a very steep hill, the motor current was maximum, there was not very good contact in one of the connectors and it began to warm up. He warmed up so that he melted and the contact became even worse.

Once again, the thesis was confirmed that electronics is the science of contacts (if something does not work, in most cases there is either no contact, where it should be, or it is where it should not be). :)

Peace for everyone!
