I am already an adult and independent man, and therefore I thought that some banal and simple things could not scare me. How wrong I was. It turned out that children's fears did not disappear anywhere, but simply sat down deeply and did not make themselves felt for a long time. But everything changed when we bought an old dacha.
When I saw that the toilet on the site was located in the farthest, abandoned corner, childhood memories flooded over me. Here I am, little, making my way through the darkness to the ill-fated village toilet. I listen to every rustle, and any unknown sound makes my heart jump out of my chest.
Sounds like a scene from some horror movie. In fact, these are just memories of the summer holidays spent with my grandmother in the countryside.
Looking at the outdoor toilet, I thought about my children, who will have to overcome fear and make their way to the cherished wooden booth. I decided that rest in the country should be associated with children only with joyful moments. That is why I decided to get rid of this problem.
The first thing that came to my mind was to equip the toilet inside the country house. However, with the summing up of the sewerage, difficulties would arise, and it would cost a lot of money. So I had to look for other ways. I rummaged through a bunch of forums, read a lot of articles on this topic and, fortunately, a solution was found. Everything turned out to be impossibly simple - to put a dry closet.
The thing is very convenient and practical. Especially for the dry closet, I arranged a secluded corner on the veranda, enclosed it with walls, and provided lighting. Someone may object that the veranda is needed for relaxation, and not for toilet needs. Maybe so, but before that we used the veranda for other than its intended purpose: we simply stored all sorts of rubbish on it.
The dry closet consists of the lower and upper tanks. We fill the bottom with liquid, thanks to which the waste decomposes faster.
I want to note that you can’t throw paper, napkins, etc. into the dry closet, so we put a trash can next to the toilet
