Not only does this store have no vendors or cash registers, it does not use RFID tags and the customer does not need to scan barcodes. You just take the goods from the shelf and leave the store. After a couple of minutes, money for purchases is debited from the card.
This is a small store Vkusvill Smart, located in the transition of the MCC Business Center in Moscow City, which opened at the beginning of the year. I have already passed by it several times, and today, on the way to the dacha, I finally went in and studied how everything works.
There is a large poster at the entrance with instructions on how to use the store.
In order to enter the store, you need to scan the QR code on the terminal from the Vkusvill application, moreover, a bank card must be linked in the application (I had to link it right before entrance).
After scanning the QR code, the turnstile opens. You can take any goods from the shelves. Everywhere there are signs with the "main rule": if you put the goods back, be sure to put them in the same place.
And then just leave the store (the exit turnstile is always open) and after a couple of minutes a push about the purchase arrives.
At first glance, it is not clear how it all works.
Each item is on a scale. As soon as you take it, the system determines by weight that the goods were taken (if you put it back, this, of course, is also taken into account).
With the help of cameras, the movement of each customer through the store is tracked, and when a product is taken, the system knows which customer took it.
When the buyer leaves the store, the amount for purchases is debited from his card.
Well cool, what can I say. The future has arrived. :)
It’s just that the people seem to be afraid of such innovations - I was alone in the store, even though a crowd of people was constantly walking along the transition and there were a lot of people in all neighboring shops and cafes.
Peace for everyone!
