It happens that the preparation of a dish takes 15-20 minutes, but the subsequent cleaning takes at least an hour. It is clear that after such an entertaining pastime, the desire to please the family with culinary masterpieces disappears. Novate.ru talks about a few tricks that will help you keep your kitchen in order with a minimum of effort.
It's no secret that any greasy stains, as well as traces of food and water that remain on the work surface and stove, are best removed immediately. But what else needs to be done so that cleaning does not take up all your free time? It turns out that everything is much simpler than we think.
Tip 1: Stock up on paper towels
They are underestimated by many housewives, but paper towels become real lifesaver when it comes to order in the kitchen. Therefore, we suggest getting a convenient holder so that towels are always at hand. As soon as you notice stains, especially greasy ones, tear off a piece of the required length and immediately eliminate them. Believe me, with these actions you will greatly simplify the subsequent cleaning.
Due to the dense, but soft texture, towels absorb liquid well and at the same time do not spread, unlike ordinary napkins. After them, the surface of the table will be perfectly clean, but most importantly, the towel can be sent to the trash can as soon as you finish cleaning, and no bacteria will be afraid of you.
Tip 2: Think about storage
When designing a kitchen, designers always try to make as many functional drawers and cabinets as possible so that if there are any items left on the countertop, then only the most necessary ones. And this is the right approach. Firstly, nothing will interfere with you during the cooking process, and secondly, cleaning will take very little time. Plus, you don’t have to wash, for example, a toaster or jars of cereals from greasy stains that have flown to them from the stove.
If you like the idea of open storage, try to hang the shelves away from the stove so that the contents do not get splattered with grease. And place here only those things that you use regularly, for example, containers with tea, coffee, sugar or spices. As for everything else, closed cabinets will be the best place for storage.
Tip 3: Place a plastic bag over your cutting board
If you plan to please family members with meat, poultry or fish, we recommend placing the cutting board in a plastic bag. A simple life hack, but it will help protect kitchen utensils from dirt and unpleasant odors that remain, for example, from fish. Plus, if you're using a wooden board and it's already scratched, the bag will prevent tiny bits of meat from getting inside, and therefore bacteria. After cutting the product, you just have to get a clean board, and carefully roll up the package with the scraps remaining on it and throw it away.
Instead of a bag, you can use cling film. This is a very multifunctional thing, so it is useful to use it not only for its intended purpose. Don't want to wrap your cutting board in it? So, just cover the work surface with a film, and when you finish cutting, roll it up and throw it in the trash can.
Tip 4: Use a cutting board on the baking sheet
Another helpful tip. It comes in especially handy if you are cutting juicy vegetables, fruits or meats, from which a huge amount of juice flows. That's just it will not be on the table or floor, but in a baking sheet. At the end, you just need to rinse it and leave to dry. Agree, it is much easier and faster than washing the table.
Tip 5: Remove the seeds with a tablespoon
This unpretentious, but very effective technique is a real find for housewives, especially if there is very little time left to prepare dinner. Firstly, with the help of a spoon, the seeds are removed in just a few seconds, and it does not matter which product needs to be cleaned: melon, pumpkin or bell pepper. Secondly, you can choose seeds immediately above the trash can - in this case, you will not have to collect seeds from the working surface later. And we all know how small, sticky, and how difficult they are to collect, then to throw away.
Tip 6: Use tall bowls or salad bowls
Using a flat plate to mix some ingredients is a very bad idea. You are guaranteed everything will go over the edge, which means that at the end of cooking the entire work surface will be dirty. To avoid an unpleasant outcome, keep a deep bowl or salad bowl handy. Such dishes are ideal for preparing salads, marinade or fillings for pies. You can also pour breadcrumbs into a salad bowl - it will be much more convenient to roll the meat than in a flat dish.
Tip 7: Floss Soft Cheese
Unlike hard cheeses, soft cheeses are very difficult to cut with a regular knife. But if it still manages to be done, then you are faced with another problem - how to wash the knife from the adhering product? Fortunately, there is an easier and more convenient way. Use dental floss next time. The pieces will turn out to be even and beautiful, and after cutting the thread, you can immediately throw it away.
By the way, there is another life hack associated with this product. If you need shredded soft cheese for some dish, put it in the freezer for a while, and only then grate it. The process will go much faster, plus the pieces will not stick to the grater and it will be easier to wash.

Tip 8: Take care of the oil bottle
The biggest problem in the kitchen is a bottle of vegetable oil. During the cooking process, it often leaks out, especially if we are in a hurry, and leaves greasy marks on the table or in the cabinet where the bottle is stored. It's good that wise housewives invented a wonderful life hack. You need to take a paper towel, spread it over the entire surface, and roll it up to the end - you should get a strip 10-15 cm wide. Wrap it around the middle of the bottle of oil, and then secure with a thin elastic band - you may need to intercept it several times, most importantly, so that the towel does not slip. The multi-layered paper will absorb oil droplets from the neck of the bottle, preventing them from reaching the work surface. But remember - the towel needs to be changed as it gets dirty. As soon as you see that it is all saturated with oil, wrap another around the bottle.
Tip 9: Clean Your Faucet Quickly
Probably, faster than the stove in the kitchen, only the sink gets dirty, or rather, the faucet on it. Chrome parts become covered with plaque and other stains within a few days after cleaning. Aggressive household chemicals do not always help, besides, it can corrode the material, but home remedies will come in handy. To quickly put the faucet in order, take 72% laundry soap, lather it with a soft sponge and wipe the faucet from all sides with smooth movements. Then rinse off the residue with warm water and dry the faucet with a paper towel. It will absorb moisture and the faucet will shine like new.
As for the sink itself, it can be cleaned as follows. Take a lemon, cut it in half, sprinkle with salt and wipe the bottom and walls of the sink. Then rinse with water and wipe dry. This method not only helps to get rid of dirt, but also disinfects the surface and gives it a pleasant aroma.
