The Chinese company is famous for its incredibly balanced and cheap devices. Maze has expanded the Gearbest.com catalog with a new Comet smartphone. The new product combines several interesting features.
Firstly, MAZE Comet became the first shock-resistant MAZE smartphone. Secondly, this is a frameless smartphone - and again, a first for the company - with an 18:9 screen aspect ratio. And finally, thirdly, the device has a special premium design.
To protect the insides Maze Comet Housed in a durable metal case with a leather back panel. The front part of the smartphone is decorated with a large 5.7-inch display with an aspect ratio of 18:9 and HD+ resolution (1440×720 pixels). The curved edges of the display extend to the ends of the smartphone, and due to the thin screen frames MAZE Comet turns into a frameless smartphone with a rather original form factor.
The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. The manufacturer claims that MAZE Comet is designed so that the smartphone display can withstand a fall of the device from a height of two meters onto a hard surface.
The MAZE Comet processor uses a MediaTek MTK6750T single-chip platform with 8 computing cores and a Mali-T860 video accelerator. At the moment, only a variant with 4 GB of RAM is available for sale, but in the near future the Gearbest.com catalog will be replenished with an improved version with a memory capacity of 6 GB. The storage for both versions is common, 64 gigabytes.
The main camera uses the popular Sony IMX258 sensor with a 13-megapixel matrix. The front camera is 8 megapixels. Usually MAZE smartphones offer good photo quality for their price category, and this time there is nothing to suggest otherwise.
Another fashionable trend in MAZE Comet is the use of USB-C as the main data connector. With its help (and Pump Express 3.0 fast charging), the built-in 4000 mAh battery is charged in just 1 hour. The new product supports dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.1.
The smartphone currently ships with Android 7.0. However, company representatives promise to update the firmware to Android 8 Oreo during the winter.
