Chinese wearable electronics manufacturer MGCool has released the next version of its fitness tracker called MGCool Band 3. The new product is very similar to the Xiaomi Mi Band 2, but has several original functions.
Unlike its main competitor, MGCool Band 3 is equipped with an OLED touch display. There are no control buttons - all 0.66 inches of the diagonal are active. Like Xiaomi Mi Band 2, MGCool Band 3 comes with a feature that allows you to activate the display by shaking or raising your hand.
MGCool Band 3 sensors are presented in an excellent set: heart rate monitor, accelerometer, gyroscope. With their help, the bracelet measures the number of steps taken and heart rate. A companion smartphone app uses this data to calculate the distance traveled.
Unlike Xiaomi devices, MGCool Band 3 is equipped with a working smart alarm clock and sleep tracking function. Also, using user data on basic body parameters, such as height and weight, MGCool Band 3 calculates calories burned during training.
It’s interesting how MGCool Band 3 reminds the user to warm up. The companion not only takes into account the time of immobility or low physical activity, but also tracks the user’s activity on social networks (Facebook, Twitter and others). Based on this data, the MGCool Band 3 bracelet notifies the wearer of the need not only to warm up, but also to take a break from the smartphone.
As befits a real sports accessory, the MGCool Band 3 fitness bracelet is protected from water and dust according to the IP68 standard, so it can be used during water procedures and even in pool. The declared maximum diving depth is 60 meters!
