Xiaomi offers new products every day, taking away the most delicious pieces of the market from traditional brands. Even in such an unusual area for China as cameras.
Following a couple of successful action cameras, the Chinese corporation released a competitor to Canon, Nikon and even Leica. You heard right - Xiaomi and Yi have released a joint development, their first system camera (mirrorless camera with interchangeable lenses) - Xiaomi/YI M1.
The company's first camera The company's first camera was not an absolute innovation - it uses the Micro Four Thirds interchangeable optics standard. Thanks to this, you can attach any lenses of this system to it - including the popular Fuji and Leica.
You can also stop at stock “saucers”. Especially for the M1, Xiaomi released a zoom lens (taking into account the size of the matrix - almost a travel zoom) with a focal length distance 12‑40 mm (aperture f/2.5-5.6) and “fix” - fixed portrait lens with a focal length of 42.5 mm (aperture f/1.8).
Inside the camera, the buyer will find a 20 megapixel Sony sensor (IMX269) with very good light sensitivity - ISO can be set up to 25,600.
The camera supports shooting 4K video files at 30 frames per second, so it can be recommended as a modern solution that truly competes with leading companies. By the way, none of the current cameras from major brands costing up to 50 thousand rubles has this capability.
Unfortunately, the YI M1 does not have a built-in flash or electronic viewfinder. Instead of the latter, a regular 3-inch display with a resolution of 720 x 480 pixels is used. But there is Bluetooth and Wi-Fi (801.11b/g/n) - I took a photo, sent it to my computer and via social networks. Although it would be better to use a flash.
The YI M1 is currently available for pre-order on Gearbest. The start of sales is scheduled for September 23.
