Xiaomi introduced QiCycle, a compact “smart” bike for conquering urban spaces and outdoor recreation.
To electrify it, a 36-volt electric motor with a power of 250 watts and Panasonic batteries are used. capacity of 58,000 mAh, which is enough to travel up to 45 kilometers at a maximum speed of 20 km/h The battery is removable and is located in the frame without affecting the appearance of the bike.
The bike is made on a carbon fiber frame and is equipped with a proprietary folding system. The wheels even have special magnets that help the mechanism hold the bike folded during transport, so that the bike parts do not hit each other.
However, many will not need it - QiCycle is already very compact and easy to carry. Its weight is only 14 kilograms! 20-inch wheels are used, but for a comfortable fit, both the steering wheel and the seat are height adjustable within reasonable limits for an adult.
There is a light mounted on the frame at the front and a red brake light at the rear that operates in several warning modes. Xiaomi QiCycle is equipped with a Shimano transmission with three gears and a Shimano derailleur with a talking Nexus model. Thanks to this, there are no usual stars on the wheel hub - they are located inside. There is also a pedal traction sensor TTM from IDbike B.V. When the sensor realizes that it is difficult for the user to pedal, it connects the electric motor and the speed increases significantly. In addition, the bike received innovative rim brakes.
The bicycle is equipped with various smart sensors of its own production: to calculate the kilometers traveled, as well as other information about the movement and the QiCycle itself. All received data is displayed on the on-board computer. It can send data to a smartphone using Bluetooth 4.0.
