Today on the agenda of masonry arches, namely as builders performed masonry and semicircular pediment inscribed in it - arched windows.
Bringing rows masonry gable before laying the bricks of the first inner and outer radii, masons built a supporting structure - a pattern of knit items from the semicircular cut plywood. Template turned out rather cumbersome, since the radius of the arch of the window was 76 cm.
In short, how to make a pattern: measurement window is made of the span. This value is divided by two, thus is the center axis of the window. Then, depending on what the radius of the curved arch we want to get, the center of the circle is displaced vertically (along the center axis). In accordance with the selected radius to apply markings on a sheet of plywood and jigsaw cut design elements.
This pattern is typically assembled from two semicircular pieces of plywood, so-called - whirling - twisted together wooden cubes.
After installing the template in the first place was paved with an arched roof windows. The second step in the prescribed pattern was observed in the center of the outer circumference of which was fixed rail, which is equal to the radius of the circle. Raked in this case acts as a kind of compass. Each stacking brick gable adjusted in accordance with this rotating rail end.
After each laid a brick arch was run a number or two numbers of a laying, filling the gap of the window arch to the semicircle gable. Bunch with zabutovochnoy masonry gable made every 5th row basalt mesh.
To masonry looked nice and cement seam everywhere was the same width, masons at work zapilivaem each brick semicircle on both sides (in the image is lower corners cut bricks are highlighted in red).
