It is time honored and not a holiday has already come, and for many people in our country (including for I) the term "vacation" is inextricably linked with the rest in the countryside, whether cottage or vacation house.
Return to the home of the "six hundred" after a long absence, but for me personally, it is often associated with some unpleasant surprises, whether it is shutdown due to the negligence of electrical light or unpleasant smell of dampness in all my small little rooms house. And if the first was able to cope after the appeal to the President of summer community just a couple of hours, with basement unpleasant "smell" in the house had to tinker a little longer ...
The first attempts to get rid of the musty smell in the house
I began with the traditional, in general, measures: pulled out of the house all the mattresses, blankets and pillows, spread and hung on a sun-drenched area. In one of the oldest summer I read magazines that "calcination" bedding in the sun not only helps get rid of the moisture in them, but killing is not too nice "neighbors" or moth larvae like dust mites.
In addition, I opened all the doors and windows and let the breeze of South Kazakhstan free to roam in my humble summer dwellings, even though it cost me a stack have scattered around the house writing-books and newspapers, lying quietly before that oven. After that I went to the garden - to reconnoiter the situation in the area, however, returning through good couple of hours in the house, I realized that the smell though, and has become less intense, but not disappeared. Lavender help
If an unpleasant odor could not be eliminated until the end, it was possible to "darken" it more strong and pleasant aroma. A friend-attendant, who lives in the next street, I borrowed a vial of lavender oil.
Diluted with about a dozen of his drops a glass of water in a spray bottle (for us it was referred to as "pshikalkoy"), I carefully sprayed Get fragrant solution mattresses and pillows.

Finishing touches
In those rooms where beds and armchairs was not (for example, in the kitchen), I decided to put a few matchboxes with brought from home freshly ground coffee (Alas, unique odor absorbers such as sea salt or baking soda I could not find). An easy frustration from the loss of precious grams of drink made up for a pleasant coffee aroma, which spread throughout the room.
I do not forget about the cleaning - bucket of water with a few drops of the same lavender oil, a rag, a couple of hours of hard work - and the house though has become even fresher than when he was just completed. So here is uncomplicated, but effective ways, I managed the whole season to get rid of unpleasant odors in their country house.
