More recently, the standard connector for all portable electronic devices become MicroUSB, and the world has already begun to move to a new slot - USB Type-C https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/USB_Type-C. This connector is equipped with more and more new smartphones and other devices. Its main plus for consumers - the plug can be inserted into the socket either party.

In fact, USB Type-C, there are many other benefits.

The very first the USB-port, which is still in use - USB A has only 4 pins in MiniUSB and MicroUSB 5 contacts (there were also non-standard implementation, for example, in GoPro cameras MiniUSB entire 10-pin), USB 3.0 and have "crutch" MicroUSB 3.0, where a standard MicroUSB connector side prisobachit another connector - 10 contacts.

USB Type-C has 24 pins in two rows.

ground pins (GND) and supply (+ V) and symmetrical duplicated on both sides of the connector.
Contacts in the center (D + and D-) - Data Interface USB 2.0 and earlier are also duplicated, but crosswise.
Four pairs of high-speed data communication terminals (in the picture they are blue) are used simultaneously.

Conclusions SBU1 SBU2 and can be used for communication between a two connected devices, and for transmitting the analog signals of the left and right channel. For example, they are used to transmit the signal to conventional headphones smartphones without separate headphone connector (incidentally obtained that depends on the position where the connector is left channel and wherein right).
Conclusions CC1 and CC2 are used to select the power mode.

For me it was a mystery how such a fluster connector wires in the cables, because in order to plug sticks by either party, it is necessary that the wires were connected to both the terminals on both sides connector. It turned out everything is simple - the connector is soldered to a tiny circuit board, which is made all the wiring, and by her fluster wires.

So what are the pros at the USB Type-C, compared with the usual MicroUSB except that it can stick any party? Plus many:

• USB Type-C can transmit energy to power up to 100 watts. This is 40 times greater than that of USB 2.0. The interface can operate in one of three modes - 5 1.5 A 5 B 3 A and USB Power Delivery 2.0 (5 V, 12 or 20 volts, a current of 1.5 to 5 amps). Details about USB PD: https://geektimes.ru/post/166661.

• USB Type-C provides data rates up to 10 GBps. This is almost 21 times faster than USB 2.0.

• USB Type-C can operate in an alternate mode (Alternate Mode). It can be used for transmission of video over HDMI 1.4b standard, MHL 3.0, DisplayPort 1.3, Thunderbolt 3.

• In contrast to all previous USB standards, USB Type-C allows you to use the same connectors on both ends.

• Connector USB Type-C can withstand up to 10,000 connections.

USB Type-C was originally made possible universal. It can even be used to power laptops, due to the large number of contacts it is possible to simultaneously transmit video, data, analog audio and power.

Connector USB Type-C is small, easy to use, reliable and versatile. I'd like to hope that it will become the main worldwide standard for quite a long time.
