Using junction boxes are formed electric circuit during electrical installation. Thanks to the free access to the connections can easily check the status of contacts and, if necessary, make a new offshoot of the chain. It is important to apply the correct way to connect, to ensure reliable contact.
The question of what methods of connecting wires in the junction box, there is not as simple as it might seem at first glance. There are several types of connections and each of them has its advantages and disadvantages, which determine the choice of a particular technique.
Methods wiring
Consider the common methods (see. Fig. 1) that in accordance with the instructions used when installing wiring. These include:
- Stranding with welds or welding wire;
- bolt or screw squeezing;
- crimping;
- Terminal Blocks (squeezing), including with the use of cleat terminals.
In many ways, the choice of connectors depends on the type of metal wire, the number of living, living section, the structure of the wires. For example, it is impossible to use aluminum and copper twist. Such combinations should be avoided altogether.
1. Stranding with brazing or welding
This method is suitable for copper conductors. They are perfectly soldered and are easily welded. Moreover welding is used for the single-core wires and stranded stranding or combinations thereof with single-core treated with a soldering iron.
Twist can be used, including, for joining aluminum conductors, but the solder or scald ends of twists fail. To increase the contact ends twists crimped special sleeves (see Fig. 2) or the cap (Fig. 3). Crimping is used for copper conductors if you want to connect several wires simultaneously.
2. Bolt or screw compressing
This method is preferably used for connecting large diameter veins. If you already have aluminum wiring in the apartment, from which you want to tee off copper, it is possible to apply the squeezing bolt, but the veins of different metals to be divided washers.
3. connection Devices
There are special terminals with brass holes (Fig. 4) for wiring connections in distribution boxes. This way is convenient to connect the single-core copper wire. Terminal Blocks are suitable for dissimilar metals, but only a single core. For the connection of stranded copper cables need to crimp the ends caps.
Cable cores are held in the nests of screws, which provide the necessary contact. The compound obtained neat and durable.
4. Self-clamping terminals
With the help of modern terminals cleat connections are very fast and fairly reliable. The stripped wire is inserted into the opening lever when cocked. After the transfer arm into the working position takes place by spring action pressing the current-carrying part to the contact. Due to the spring mechanism is provided with conductor wires contact bus terminal.
The design of the device depicted in Figure 5. Self-clamping terminals are recommended for wire designed for heavy loads. But they are ideal for powering common household appliances.
