Any household welding machine is equipped with an earth terminal (mass). 90% of vehicles are budget Chinese model, therefore saving on everything here.
Cable aluminum, coated only with a copper terminal flimsy, in a week of operation is not fixed to the product or burns. Have to order a new accessory, but a reasonable question arises: what parameters?
Thus, a mass terminal must:
- comply with max. current characteristics of the inverter and ensure a secure fit;
- be "relevant" opening value. The magnitude of the disclosure has a significant role, for example, during welding of large diameter pipes;
- have a supply current. When it comes to the terminal of the "clothespin", it is better to buy a stock of current, it is more massive and will provide all the advantages, as discussed in the two previous item in the list (the same rule does not work when you select the electrode, as current supply makes it only more difficult and cumbersome, which is inconvenient for Welder);
- It is built with high quality materials. This applies particularly to the clamping jaws: they must be made of copper, in the extreme case of brass, but not on your nelly of steel - it is a poor conductor - electricity will be met by resistance, which will lead to excessive heating and overheating.
The masses can be of different types:
- • «clothespin" is suitable for most household work;
- • Clamp is useful where the need really robust "hardware" contact;
- • magnetic clamp will be indispensable in the welding of large pipelines.
