My vacation site is located in the Leningrad region, on a former swamp. It drained a lot of years ago, but the place is still quite low. That is why, when they start to go long rains, my garden is transformed into a real mess.

The main problem lies in the fact that in the passages between the beds for a long time accumulated water, which makes them present morass. To go and work in such conditions is impossible. And it is not about convenience, and the health and able to care for cultures.

We had to somehow solve the problem and something to spread the track. Because, if the season was rainy, the work can stay for weeks. At this rate, a good harvest is not to be expected.

To solve the problem, I sought the help of the Internet and read lots of different ways. Now I tell that helped me, and I just spent time.

What it is not necessary to lay out paths between the beds

Of the variety of proposals, I chose a few options that I was approached by the forces and capabilities. Their basic idea was to use recycled materials, which suited me fine.

1. Old linoleum

Pave paths between the beds old linoleum was a bad idea.

  • First, linoleum after the rain became so slippery that take place in the beds was almost impossible;
  • Secondly, the track still remained soft, which greatly hampered the work;
  • Thirdly, linoleum long time did not allow to dry out the moisture that accumulates under them after the rain.

In general, the old linoleum was completely useless and had to be taken to the station in a landfill.

2. cut a tree

The idea lay track cut a tree seemed pretty robust. After all, this method involves the creation of a solid non-slip surface, which would be able to quickly dry out. But in practice it was not so.

Spila trees rather quickly began to go into the ground and become a real obstacle. Perhaps I used the saw cut is too small diameter, but the others I did not.

After a month of wood had to get out of the passage, as it became impossible to walk on them.

3. Film

Old Film of greenhouse had the same disadvantages as linoleum, but very quickly began to tear.

In addition, through it did not grow weeds, any advantages it had. In any case, from the "swamp" I did not save it.

4. old bricks

To lay out a path between the beds of old brick was not easy, but it has brought positive results. Rights not for long. After heavy rains, the bricks began to squish and ride.

Of course, if it was a new material or paving slabs, everything can be done smoothly and accurately. But new bricks I could not afford.

How I solved the problem with the "swamp"

In the end, after all my pains, I still make a normal track. As soon as it is quite expensive, as it was necessary to buy the board, but the effect was stunning.

In fact, a small wooden platform. It is of two guide bars and the transverse boards. Very simple design, but very reliable and practical.

pros

  • On such platform does not accumulate water;
  • The board quickly dry out, as there is air circulation;
  • Surface sturdy stand is very convenient;
  • The tracks look beautiful and well maintained;

The only problem

  • Between the boards can drop the garden tools, which then have to take a long time.

I think once is better to build such a track than each year suffer from the "swamp" and "walking" of the soil.
