This material can rightfully be called universal, which is why I use it in almost every construction area. However, not everyone knows that there are other astringent mixtures with equally good characteristics.
Let's talk about them in more detail.
- 1. If it is necessary for the solution to freeze as quickly as possible, it is optimal to use alabaster. Its cost is slightly higher than that of cement. But this solution does not have positive qualities.
- 2. When it comes to laying gas blocks or foam blocks, they often use polyurethane glue. Its main advantage lies in the reliable adhesion of building materials. In addition, it produces very thin seams, which minimizes heat loss in the finished building. Unfortunately, the price tag of such glue "bites".
- 3. Slaked lime mixed with sand - such a solution was used many years ago. But even today the exact composition of the miracle mixture remains unknown. As you can see, the old masonry is extremely reliable and durable.
- 4. I would like to mention gypsum-based mixture. Firstly, it is inexpensive, and secondly, it dries quickly enough. To achieve greater strength, fiber can be used for laying.
- 5.Artificial modifiers help you perform tasks with increased durability and environmental friendliness. These modifiers include sticky cellulose, various resins, binders for the petrochemical industry etc.
- 6. And, of course, one cannot but say about mineral substitutes. Remember Pompey. She remained buried forever under a layer of volcanic ash. Also among such binders is ash and silica dust.
By the way, in some countries, ordinary cement is practically not used. In Singapore, Australia and the United Arab Emirates, masonry is performed using alternative bonding mixes. Isn't it time for us to adopt the experience of foreign builders?
