I think it was not only me who had to deal with such a nuisance. For whom else it happens that when drilling a wall, the perforator rests against an iron reinforcement? For many? This means that today's article will be very useful.
The first thing that comes to mind is to drill a hole nearby. However, this is not always appropriate. If we talk about aesthetics, then hardly anyone will be pleased with the "leaky" wall in the apartment, and not always a hole nearby is possible. There are situations when it is needed exactly in this place and a micron to the left or to the right)).
Many are desperately starting to drill metal fittings with a drill. I think that not everyone succeeds. You can help yourself with a powerful chisel. But will it be possible to squeeze it into a small diameter hole? This method has the right to life only if the reinforcement is close to the edge of the wall.
I advise you a very simple and effective way. Stumbled upon fittings - this is not a reason to be upset!
Calm down, accept the situation and start solving the problem. Keep the hole free of dust, concrete pieces and other debris. Then wet it well inside. You can use a syringe for this.
Next, take the chuck off the shanks. It is very good if you have another drill. If not, install the chuck in the punch. Arm yourself with a metal drill (check that its diameter matches the diameter of the drill). At low rpm, without using a punch, carefully punch a hole in the armature. Remove the drill from the hole frequently to cool it down.
After drilling the reinforcement, reinstall the drill into the hammer drill and continue what you started.
Pretty simple, right? At the end, I want to add that the method can be simplified even more. Today, shops sell universal drills. They are suitable for drilling in concrete and iron, including metal fittings. Of course, the cost for them is quite high, but when you don't want to bother, you can overpay.
