My family and I recently rested at the dacha. There is no gas supply to the house. To be honest, almost all our neighbors in the country use gas cylinders. Then I wondered what is more profitable: to constantly buy bottled gas or get an electric stove?
What about gas cylinders?
First of all, I propose to consider the advantages and disadvantages of gas. Surely, many owners of summer cottages and houses in the village repeatedly had to carry weighty cylinders. An empty cylinder weighs more than 20 kilograms, if you add another 20 kilograms of liquefied gas to this, then not everyone can lift such a weight.
It should be noted that not all of the gas from the cylinder is spent on cooking and heating food. I calculated that the efficiency of a gas stove is only 60%. The remaining 40% is spent on heating the kitchen. It took me about 750 rubles for each filling of the cylinder. Taking into account the minimum costs, it turns out about 5 rubles per 1 kW * hour of the required gas energy. In my opinion, electricity in the villages costs half as much.
It's time to talk about electric stoves
The advantages of electric stoves:
- They are distinguished by a high level of security. In the absence of electricity, the stove will simply stop working. Agree, this is not scary or dangerous compared to a gas leak.
- During operation, the electric stove does not emit any harmful substances. You yourself know how much of the bad is released into the air when the gas burns.
- Electric cookers are quite versatile. Cooking with them is simple and convenient.
- The cost of an electric stove pays off over time.
You should also talk about the disadvantages:
- To connect an electric stove, you need powerful and reliable wiring. You should also consider the total power in the network and the presence of outages. If the power is not enough, you should opt for gas stoves.
- An electric stove heats food longer than a gas stove. This is due to the structure of the hob. An ordinary electric stove has an efficiency of about 50%, so its cost can be compared to gas.
As you might guess, at my dacha I decided to install an electric stove. The choice suits me completely, I don't have to constantly change the gas cylinder, refuel it, etc. True, our electricity is often cut off, we have to somehow adjust. But I'm almost used to it!
